The Indianapolis Colts are in a tough spot, in large part due to Chris Ballard. While we want to enjoy what’s in front of us as fans, the reality remains that this Colts offseason is going to be a major challenge and Carlie Irsay Gordon has some tough decisions to make. As opposed to talk about the 49ers game, we will talk about that. Enjoy!

  1. Time for a full rebuild and reset. I like Shane a lot, and I’m a supporter of Ballard. I think this year especially it’s very apparent that he can put together good rosters and is great in the draft. It’s just time for a change and now the timing makes more sense than ever.

  2. If we are being honest… Had Jones stayed healthy. Colts possibly already would have 10 wins at this point and that SG trade isn’t looked at as a mistake.

  3. 49ers clinched the playoffs. That might help the colts tomorrow. I dont think the team really has a chance at a top seed with the way that all the NFC teams are obliterating each other. 49ers at this point need to focus on getting players back from injury

  4. As done as i am with Ballard, it makes the most sense to keep him till we get our 1sts back. What are we expecting a new GM to do without 1sts for 2 years? This team is Ballards bed, let him sleep in it

  5. Ballard lost me with the Ahmad Gardner trade. Ballard revealed that he really DIDN'T have fundamental principles and that he was willing to sacrifice the future for a grab at the brass ring, like the dumbest of GMs. Moreover, he traded far, far too much for my least favorite player in the NFL — a gangly, handsy penalty-generator with an abysmal contract, virtually zero ability to tackle, and three career interceptions.

If you wanna trade two 1s and a functional NFL wideout for a SUPERSTAR, okay — but it you're gonna do that for an overrated, overhyped, overdrafted, overpaid Nickname with a narcissistic uniform number….. I'm out.

Both Steichen and Ballard need to go. Blow the mother up.

  6. I think Carly okayed the trade to not limit CB in any way this year. However, I don't think that means she won't have consequences for it going bad.

  7. Personally, I think something happened to DJ in the Steelers game and possibly worsened in the Falcons game. After that, DJ wasn’t the same, and neither was the offense. Healthy DJ beats the Chiefs, Texans, and Seahawks. Still think we lose to the Jaguars in Jax, but easily beat them at home. Tomorrow would still be a toss-up to me. But beating the Jaguars at home would have given up the division. Just my theory

  8. Ballard is an idiot. The way he handled the Carson Wentz situation, solidified that for me. You got almost EXACTLY what you should have expected w Wentz, based on his career averages coming into that season. Colts blamed Wentz when they had no elite tight end, no elite WRs etc.

  9. I'll take my victory lap proudly about Ballard. I don't think the trade is the problem. It's the other misses in round 1 and an inability to find a qb1.

  10. Hindsight is always 20/20. Everyone was happy with the trade and Daniel Jones when we were winning games. Its easy to critisize now that everything has fallen apart. The intent was good. This year CB did everything we had been asking him to do for the past decade. Sad that the injuries derailed the plan. I cant blame him for that.

  11. I always go back to the fundamentals. Do we have a franchise QB, LT and Pass rusher. Peyton, M. , Taryk Glenn, Dwight Freeny. That was a winning foundation. DJ, Raimman and Latu are ours. That's not bad, but Latu is not scaring QBs yet. I think if Latu was producing and Sauce wasn't injured, we'd be in pretty good shape

  12. ugh, Justin. i know you gota make some content. And, im with you on not going all in on the Jones take, Colts fans….

But, you are doing the same thing with this take. This is so reactionary, so rear-view mirror. I expect this from the typical Colts fans, you… id have hoped to not see. This season is not on Ballard; at all. The team that was put on the field has performed, and fairly well.

You can't fire people because of injuries. The Sauce trade hasent worked, but it's not because of on the field inability. Its because of injury. The team played shockingly well up to that point. Ballard cant be blamed for injuries that can not be predicted. Well, shouldn't anyway, not by a rational person.

Sure, the losing and bad ball coincide with Sauce, but it also coincides with Buckner going down. Let's look at what's really happened this season.

    Win vs 12-3 Denver
    Win vs 11-4 Chargers
A winnable game vs the 11-4 Rams
A winnable game vs the Texans 10-5 Texans
A winnable game vs the 12-3 Seahawks

2 bad games, and even one of those was winnable…

We are down to QB4, and K3. Down our CB1, and CB2
Buckner has missed 5 games and questionable tomorrow, Our RT is out and has likely played his last game for the team, our LT is out tomorrow.

And…. I'm typing this as I listen, and I just get to the (23:00) mark. Wow, just stupid man. Come on, man, I know you're not the typical Colts fan, don't start sounding like one now.

  13. Ballard has been in charge since 2017 and he's failed to deliver at multiple positions most importantly at quarterback. I'm starting to run out of fingers for counting how many times he's missed at edge too. 9 seasons is a very long leash for a GM in my opinion and he hasn't accomplished anything. 9 years of not winning one of the easiest divisions in the NFL. We're in trouble because attracting a new GM without 2 – 1st round picks is going to be a problem. I think we should make Dodds the interim GM with a chance to prove himself over the next 2 years.
