You are right I think that means no big bat great!
🤦♂️ we doing nothing
Stearns is destroying this team!!!
Yo I’m 13 and my jersey currently is youth small and I need a new one pls I don’t care which one thx bro
this would be another "crap" stop-gap … I would so much rather have BENGE in CF even if he needs to develop awhile. The only acceptable moves Stearns can and make from here, is either Bellinger (best move), Tucker to RF, Soto to LF, and if Bichette – then what do we do with pick-ups retrade a few pieces w McNeil for pitching.
On the free agent market would be good to get Bassit back while young pitchers develop. He is a work horse and could teach them a few things without great expense.
If Stearns wants insurance, he should stash Iglesias, and Canario back on the team at AAA – Canario would be a cheaper solution in LF if he doesn't spend.
Imai or Okomoto would also help him save face some
Stearn’s seems to have an obsession with this bum Luis Robert. I don’t even want to hear his name anymore. Can the white Sox find another sucker to preclude us from giving up the farm for this guy???🤷🏾♂️.
Uhm, Senga came over here from Japan at 29 😂
Listen I get people just want to have something to be mad about but what they had wasn't working. Shaking things up might make things better. In 2023 luis Robert jr in his healthiest season. 145 games hit 38 hr. Batting 264 and 33 steals. He may do better playing in New York. And having someone like Soto in the line up really helps every one in the line up.
He’s Brandon Nimmo only ten times better defensively Mets fan are never happy about any improvement he’s just as good as Nimmo actually better and younger his defense is superior to Nimmo get him and bellinger and pitching
I agree w Ray, no way I make this deal – Robert would do better # in Cincy but not at Citi Field. Not only that, how strong is the PEYOTE on the South side of Chicago, they want what??? Tong – Vientos – dudes I wouldn't give them Tong, Wong or Song for Robert, and much less even 1-1 Vientos who has much more upside and proven track record than the train wreck of overpaying Roberts.
When players are PAID big time, they tend to get LAZY and lack the discipline that got them there in the 1st place to continue excelling. They rest, and mail it in, reminds me of the Mets and Kevin Bass who didn't want to hustle or work in Spring Training.
Stears would get FOOL or Dunce Cap of the Year Award for a DECADE making that kind of a trade. I would hope Cohen would step in, and not let his precious assets be spent in a STUPID manner. Ditto MENDOZA. how much say do these guys have?
We don't need no stinking Robert. Even Acuna yet undeveloped can play CF if need be. I'd say McNeil but he has to be dealt, why Stearns would hold onto irritation in the clubhouse and not get some pitching trading him is still a mystery to me.
Casey Stengel used to say, can anyone on this team play baseball?
It was funny then … Marvelous Marv Throneberry at 1b,
but now the question is –
can the Mets get out of their own mismanagement of shooting themselves in the foot off season and in season?
No way this happens when they just signed Murakami
Stearns should be fired he's the worst GM since they traded Tom Seaver in 1977. Stearns is incompetent ignorant smug arrogant and dumb.
I hope Cohen enjoys his casino his soccer stadium and his crime ridden low income housing projects
I rather give Vientos a shot at 1st base, instead of getting Robert I don't know what the affinity is with him if we trade for him I'd give them Acuna and couple of class A prospects that's it ! Sign Bellinger unless he wants an outrageous amount. I would not be surprised one bit if Bellinger goes to LA. The way I see it MLB wants LA to 3 peat any way, The last team to do that was the Yankees 1998 to 2000. If we would have kept Pete this would not be a problem. Ironically we have NO NEW STARTERS !
I like him. Hope it happens
The cost of SP is ridiculous. If you look at the Tampa trade. I want sterns out of here. I don't want the Mets to give up any pitching prospects. They will evaluate what they need at the trade deadline or next yr. The Mets have too many holes to fill in 1 off season & a logjam of middle infielders. They need another high leverage reliever possibly 2. A legitimate 1B & CF & a solid 1 or 2 starter that I think sterns coming from the farm. I see short term stopgaps until the prospects mature.
The Mets bats all profile with a solid floor of 15+ hr, high OBP, 25+ steals. Clifford is the one exception & shows natural power & run production with just under 30 HRs & 90+ RBIs. I think he needs to be untouchable bc of his raw power. I don't think he has the defensive tools to play 1B. Cohen has drank the kool-aid & needs to see this team fail miserably which the Mets before he kicks sterns and/or Mendoza to the curb, imho0p
Who said sign Okamoto long term? What does him working out long term have to do with anything? lmao
No to Okamoto but yes to Cody Bellinger and Kyle Tucker long term lol
Thank you….. finally someone agrees that Robert Jr. is not worth trading anyone for…… he's another step backwards after a very stressful and head shaking off season. I'm asking Stearns to continue PUNTING the 2026 season away. That's all he's done this off season. Maybe Uncle Steve told him…..You Sucked Last Year…..You Promised Me Soto Would Guarantee Us Being A Playoff Team…..And You Were Wrong!!!…..Now you can suffer with limited help from your owner…. since it worked for you in Milwaukee. If Mets fans had access to one thing this off-season….it would be the conversations between Cohen and Stearns. There's been no transparency to the fans….so those conversations would give us insight where there is darkness.
I’m so fkn tired of sterns. Can we just get this season over so cohen can fire him already. That’s the only hope I have for 2026.
Checked on everyone but won’t pay anyone over 2 years so sign no one but dog ish players. F sterns and his bs idiotic philosophy that is not made for NY. This dumb mf is really gonna replace Pete with Vientos and Polanco that never played first ever in his life. I can’t stand this guy. This is another waste of 350m. He’s spent $100 on straight trash already!! Ray we could put a better team together with 350m with some baseball cards and a dart board.
These moves say one thing. They had no plan! Just trash moves and pray he gets lucky so he can say he was smart for 1 or 2 out of 20 moves. Gtfoh with this clown
I’m not interested in overpaying for players the way teams are right now. It’s not worth it.
