I’m tired of Theo guys. He’s not the guy. He shows flashes but just keeps hurting us with his drops and his hands.

Anyone here still in support of him? You guys want him around? How does this place feel about 84?

He’s the TE version of Slayton, super athletic dude who CANNOT catch a football
He’s Young, and overall his hands are improving. I’m not sweating him. Get a good coach, he will shape up
players develop at different rates. we are not going to cut him. let the developmental prospect develop.
He has been incredibly inconsistent which is not what you want from a starting tight end. It’s still possible that he can benefit from a new system and develop into a solid offensive piece
***[[Me, standing on the deck of the Titanic]]*** You know what? I’m not sure I’m in love with the color of the carpet in the smoking parlor…
Similar to Evan Engram, all the potential in the world just bricks for hands
Honestly think hands are a hard thing to coach. You either have it or you don’t. I also think Bellenger is a better receiving TE. I guess they got 84 starting because he’s a better blocker and route runner. It’s just so heartbreaking when every game Dart puts one or 2 in his hands and he just drops it or today it gets picked off.
I think Eli spoiled the fan base on what to expect from a TE. There aren’t a lot TEs who can be the first or second option on offense, Theo’s mistakes are magnified because we are so thin at skill positions, we are relying on a guy who simply isn’t that guy yet. He’s still young and I think he’ll look a lot better once we get Nabers back and hopefully another receiving option to go with Wandale.
Hey at least Darren Waller looks good /s
Been like this all season. Needs to be better next year
Been sick of him and his stupid ass drops, but hoping he puts it altogether in year 3. His blocking is legitimately good, if he can just catch a fucking ball semi-consistently he’ll be pretty dang good.
I wish we could combine Bellinger and Johnson. Bellinger’s reliable hands with Theo’s athleticism
Its his 2nd year and we have a complete clown show of a regime and coaching staff. I’ll reserve judgement for him after we get actual coaches in here. Slayton is a bum though, he can kick rocks
Nothing wrong with being a good backup TE. Now we have 2 🙃
He did the same thing at PSU
He is the type of guy who will sign somewhere else after his rookie deal and absolutely kill it.
Out of all the problems with this organization..its 5th rounder theo lol
i dont like his hair
What happened to bellinger
Can’t catch. See ya
Hes been pretty good the second half the season until today.
W should try and trade for hawes from the bills
Someone tell me what happened to Daniel Bellinger 😩
As much as I would love to overhaul the TE group, I don’t think it’s feasible with all the other areas of need. We’re going to have to hope that the next coaching staff can fix it.
I’ve been a bigger fan of Bellinger than Johnson. He’s way more reliable.
He’s a fifth rounder with all the tools still developing his game. Young guys are inconsistent, and you can only hope he grows with the opportunities he is getting
So much doom and gloom in this sub. Come back to this when the team is properly coached
He’s a certified cuck
he’s been horrible its beyond me why people defend him
It’s almost as if… when they drafted him… every scouts concern was that he had bad hands.
Belly and Johnson should switch roles. Johnson would make a great fullback. I’d like to even see him get some carries out of the backfield.
But Schoen said he’s one of the core young players!
Absolute total rebuild for the giants this coming offseason and the general manager needs to be fired. But Theo Johnson needs to go he’s a liability not an asset as we thought he was
Let belli be the TE1 we deserve. Solid, consistent, reliable and young. Nothing wrong with going with a guy who is average or slightly above ave. I’m a belliever
His hands are made of feet lol
All I can say is give him some more time before we completely write him off. He’s only 26 games in let’s relax before we put him in the slayton and Evan engram conversation. We should be definitely invest in the position in the offseason to bring in some competition tho.
He blocks his ass off and has come in clutch for us. I feel like sometimes people are a bit too reactionary and dramatic. He’s fine for us. I’m not “done” with him. Belli and Theo are a decent TE tandem.
For every flash he shows, he has 3 drops. Net negative. Really disappointing
Today was abysmal. I saw very few “the guy” anywhere. This roster is terrible
Yeah i think drafting TE late might be a need.
That’s Evan Engram 2.0. Butterfingers junior.
He’s a solid TE2. Great blocker and has flashes of great play but he cannot be relied upon to be the top target. You have to make the calls / catches super easy for him (i.e. TE screen or hitch) and he will do some damage. He just can’t be depended on in critical moments – the margins are too thin in the NFL.
I honestly might be in the minority here, and maybe just jaded from our extremely high drop rate over the years, but if I’m a QB I want a receiver with less separation or less upside after the catch that is very sure handed vs the opposite. Drops this year have almost single-handedly lost us 4-5 games (Theo and Slayton). It’s also another reason why I rate Wandale so highly. On another note, I’m shocked we haven’t tried to lean on him more. The definition of insanity is throwing to Theo and Slayton and expecting them to be something they’re not, over and over again.
Bellinger is far more reliable. Theo literally alligator armed that pass and it was intercepted. Just horrible.
So yal wanna win and lose the ability to aquire draft picks to possibly replace him?

Reminder that we’ve had the guy all along.
