I’m certainly not advocating for Russ to be a Blazer, but I respect that dude for his accomplishments.
Like, if I had the time in, amd had done the things Russ has, I would be pretty pissed that this is making the rounds. Like, the kid jumped so high his balls were in my face… What do you expect me to do? Jump up Like I’m pacman and nom nom nom his junk?
I just don’t like that sentiment that X got “posterized’ because they fid something wrong, when if it wasn’t one of the best leaper’s/bunkers in the game, staying down outside of the circle is good no foul defense.
The narrative in those situations should be – The defwnder did everything right, but this player is so exceptional at that thing, there’s just nothing you could possibly do to stop it from happening at that point.
I would rather have Tou be “posterized” at like a 1:4 ratio, if he’s also drawing the charge on 25% of those scenarios. If the rest are 50/50, that’s actually a pretty good defensive %, at the highest fg% FGA.
