MLB aggrieved fan index: The 10 most frustrated fan bases of 2025 (Giants #6)

> One thing about the Giants: They’re consistent. The past four seasons they’ve gone 81-81, 79-83, 80-82 and 81-81, respectively. Being stuck in neutral creates its own kind of fan frustration. They’ve made the playoffs once in the past nine seasons, the miracle season of 2021 that now stands out as maybe one of the biggest flukes in MLB history. This past season was also kind of strange. In his first season as president of baseball operations, Buster Posey made the big Devers trade in June, but then dealt Tyler Rogers, Camilo Doval and Mike Yastrzemski at the trade deadline.
> The Giants ended up missing the playoffs by two games. Do they make it if they keep those guys?
> This offseason raises the same concerns the Giants always seem to face: Even with the addition of Devers, they need another middle-of-the-order hitter; the rotation always feels one good starter short; the outfield always needs one more productive hitter; and now the bullpen needs a makeover with Rogers and Doval gone and Randy Rodriguez out after Tommy John surgery. Kyle Tucker or Cody Bellinger fit the Giants’ needs, but their fans have heard this story before, as the team always seems unable to reel in one of the top free agents.
I watched a dynasty in the 2010s. I’m good the rest of my life
Keeping Rogers or Yaz or, lol, Doval wasn’t going to unfuck our team in August. Maybe we squeak two more wins, but let’s face it: we fucking sucked.
lol who made this list? Athletics fans didn’t even make the top ten? Or is it one of those lists where they leave out the most obvious answer, because it’s not fair to the other fandoms?
We’re allowed to be frustrated but I feel like anyone who won a title further back than us has more of an axe to grind. Mariners, A’s, Angels, Mets, Guardians, Tigers, Yankees all come to mind. Frankly even the Cardinals are starting to turn
A .500 team is not so bad.
Winning 3 World Series in 5 years was Giants legacy.
Hiring Posey to try to replicate the scrappy teams he played on that won is an interesting gamble as he is also relying upon others to help guide his way. It’s fun to see him go from player to President of Baseball Operations. Let’s Go Giants!!!
With the Dodgers spending a BILLION dollars to get the best from Japan and the best free agents to in essence “buy” their way to a World Series win is hard to compete against.
Giants CEO Larry Baer is a brilliant and insightful businessman to recognize that it’s the fans that end up paying for the high priced players. Rather than chase the Dodgers spending, he’s building up the community around the ballpark with The Mission Rock Project. This offseason he purchased The Curran Theatre that will continue to put on live Broadway shows.
The community also matters. Look at Oakland, CA that has neglected their community to the extent that sports teams have left and crime has taken over the city. San Francisco has been going downhill with an increase of homelessness and crime, too. It’s wise for SF Giants to work within the community to try to build it up.
The A’s cant even make they most aggrieved list… truly forgotten
The most frustrating part about the Giants is they’ve played the most boring style of baseball and had the least exciting players to watch for close to a decade now. The offense outside of 2021 is never good, they aren’t dynamic of the base paths, and outside of Logan Webb they haven’t had any real talented pitcher too. It’s just a roster full of boring mediocre players year after year.
This guy has apparently never met a Red Sox or Phillies fan. Those fans feel more aggrieved when they win the WS than most fans do in the most frustrating of seasons.
Can’t see past the pirates when on my phone because the term of use policy pops up.
I can see us going to number one in a year or two. If things stay the same. Maybe?
First time we’ve made a top 10 list in a while so that’s nice
I know grown men aren’t supposed to switch teams, but the Giants are sure trying to get me to leave. This commitment to total mediocrity and the front office’s unwillingness to really put down some “we’re f***ing serious about a deep playoff run” money is turning me off big time. I’m not walking away, but it’s more tempting than ever
