8. Great show boys! In my humble opinion, I appreciate the concern for the fans, and their feelings, but we're here due to the entertainment value, more importantly, your expertises. Habs fans are irrationally passionate, and every Habs player is obviously a first ballot hall of famer' – including Kapanen. lol

9. I didn't believe the Binnington rumours but they make sense now. Dobes is still uncertain and Fowler shouldn't be rushed. Not sure the trade can be made even though Monty could be a good backup for Hofer.

11. Kappy is tied for 1st in rookie goal scoring. I don’t think he’s getting the respect he deserves. I don’t see the creativity in O’Reilly either. Fact is a rookie Finn is playing on the second line in Montreal and doing what he’s doing. It’s not all Demidov; he’s covering Demidov’s mistakes on many shifts and contributing offensively. I don’t see him as Lemieux but he’s not without creativity either. I’d wait to pass judgement unless your Nostradamus of course 😊.

13. Marco, I get your concern with Kappy. He’s not a play driver and needs others to create for him but he can finish, good on face offs and defensively. I think he’s young and has more offense to offer. He would be a super 3rd line centre for sure. I think he might surprise us.

17. I mean, Mario was kinda around… Could be my mistake, but he spent a lot of time out of the lineup down the stretch. If he hadn't, Crosby never would've landed in Pittsburgh. So Crosby sticking around through it all is kinda like Mario, but also very different. What might be more comparable (injury/illness aside) would be Crosby spending the next season and a half elsewhere (having a little bit of fun while Pittsburgh goes through some misery), then re-signing for 2027. Playing another 2 seasons, ushering in all of the new talent and eventually retiring a Penguin. Not exactly the same, either. But at least this way the Pens are able to actually retool, and Crosby doesn't have to suffer in the meantime…

    I tend to agree, this team would be very very deep if Kapanen was the 3C or if he was an alternate center on a 3rd line

24. Imo Matheson-Dobson is not a good top pair. That pair and playing Hutson on the right side is not a Cup winning formula.

25. OMG! I can't believe Marco is worried about what some fan thinks about his opinion. I though you were a sports writer and analyst by trade, if you believe you have an honest take on a player or situation it doesn't matter what some random fan or fans may think. Its SPORTS, the point is to have fun debating this stuff. I can reasonably suggest I've disagreed with several Marco takes, that doesn't mean I have some hate on for you or that you shouldn't keep sharing your observations. Kapanen is a good center, its unlikely he'll be a 2C on a championship team but how is it a BAD thing to be a great 3C that can step up to 2nd line due to injury etc.

26. Great show as always. I'd love 87 on Habs, BUT, with new ownership and Mario playing a bigger role with the team, I believe Crosby will stay with Pens. As much out of loyalty to a mentor as to being a man who wants to retire a Penguin . Even if he can't get them to another Cup, he'll help set the table.

31. This kid line will probably become the first line in three years .These players are capable of winning one-on-one battles along the boards, while the other two defend each other. This is completely different from what we see with Suzuki and especially Caufield. Caufield is extremely dependent on his teammates to collect pucks for him in the corners. Without Slaf , by Suzuki and Caufield together, absolutely nothing happens Don't mess up the 2th line and give Dach to Suz and Cauf.

32. Kappy is not a creator but neither is Danault nor a finisher..Danault was where the offence goes to dies in his first stint, we ll see if it s the same in his second.
