  2. They’re adjusting from Levert, Jerome, Okoro being gone, on top of injuries to Strus & Merrill along with DG & Allen been hurt, with Mobley out now. Unfortunately no one’s stepped up enough to help Mitchell since Merrill got hurt. They just need guys to step up and get healthy.

  3. I'm surprised how the loss of Ty Jerome wasn't mentioned

considering how good he was last year and his ability to fill in for Garland when he was out, he may have been even more important that we thought

  4. As long as Spida keeps playing Hero ball (ie. The entire playoffs), the Cavs will go nowhere. He needs to change his style of play (ie. Elevate his teammates) at this point in his career, if he wants to accomplish anything in the playoffs

  5. Idk I'm not watching them and maybe the shots themselves are not as good, but almost every guy is shooting FAR worse from 3 than ever before and that probably influences a lot of the struggles

  6. Mobley is a Ayton ass mf. He’s a third option and insane defender but that’s it. Not too sure what everyone is expecting him to be in td clear he’s not aggressive or has the offensive chops to be this Kevin Garnett reskin. Kind of a shame that the 3 best shooting guards Mitch Ant and booker have no good running mates they are on mediocre teams. At least ant has had good brackets to make the conference finals twice but other than that those guys don’t have a clear 2nd man up. Randle is more 3rd, the entire Cavs team is 3rd options, suns idek. Trades need to be made.

  7. They lost their offensive coach Jordan OTT to the Suns, so their offence dropped, and losing Ty Jerome made their bench offense much worse. Plus Mobley is geniunely soft, he doesn't use his physicality to his advantage.

  8. Every talented team has to face adversity in order to become better than where they were. They either evolve or fold .

The Cavs just cannot handle adversity.
I'm pretty sure after they saw the Cakewalk that was the Celtics 2024 campaign, they said "yeah, I'll take that."

  9. Injuries aside, the Cavs are paying four dudes nearly a half a billion dollars. It's gutted their depth. The had to let Ty Jerome go and traded away their one legit defender in Okoro. That second apron has crippled them. No one is taking a home team discount, so they're stuck until someone is willing to trade for one of those bloated contracts.

  10. Darius Garland needs to play better but the fact is that Cleveland massively overperformed last year. Their O/U for wins last year was 48.5

Also this is a team whose players are just coming back down to earth. Look at Jarret Allen advanced stats

    142 ORTG (led the league)
    108 DRTG
    72.7% TS (led the league)

  11. I feel like they tried to build a team that is 2024 Celtics esque. At least in the philosophy of having a balanced and spread out attack. But this cavs team doesn’t feel like it has the personnel for that.

  12. The issue has been an atrocious defensive effort mixed with injuries and a down shooting stretch.

The shooting hasn't been terrible but it has been noticeablely worse than any 20 game stretch from last season.

Mitchell, Mobley, Garland, Allen, and Hunter have played a combined like 40min together all season and even key role players like Sam Merril have missed over half the season.

Finally, the defense has been pitiful and this probably falls on Kenny who I think is a great coach, but he's more of an offensive guy. We're still top 11 in offense despite the bad shooting and injuries but the defense has fallen to near bottom 10 in the league. Atrocious effort on that end of the ball whenever I watch.

  13. The Cavs have never been serious unless they had Lebron
You gotta stop falling for these trash teams that overachieved during a season or two. They're not real contenders and never will be.
