  1. He's not that dude and doesn't want to be.

He'll make some all star teams, make his money and talk his sht trying to be cute and funny. But he's not a "face of the league" guy and is on record saying he doesn't want to be.

Just another lame "superstar" of this boring, offensive rule slanted, stat inflated generation.

  2. He's too busy knocking up random Instagram models.

The difference between American stars now is they don't play good basketball

S Tier athleticism and skill but not good basketball, so they aren't going to win.

Harper on the spurs is a guy that stands out to me, he's playing better fundamentally than most other American players

  3. Ant just needs to accumulate enough smoke with teams to then snatch their soul in the playoffs. We got that smoke with Denver and Luka and got his get back and now its OKCs turn.

  4. I like Anthony Edwards. I don't want the NBA to do a damn thing to him. No supercharging from the refs, no random excessive boosting by the media with MJ comparisons, no artificial movement of him to the knicks. Don't sensor him and just leave him alone.

  5. Sorry, until Ant demonstrates his game is able to consistently translate against tight defense, he will remain as a second tier superstar. I like him, he's great, but there is more work to do.

  6. I think this is the year Ant gets over the hump. If you watch his last few interviews when they bring up OKC he admits they whooped him but he's going hard to get back at them. We seen when Denver knocked wolves out the playoffs, we seen luka do it, we saw Shai do it last year. A matchup between the wolves and OKC in the playoffs will be must see tv. Ratings will go through the roof. It's going to happen the wolves are a great team , had some injuries to start but they can hang with any team

  7. There are more than 1 FACE. Let ANT be ANT. MN just needs a couple ship then it will happen. #1 face. For now let him cook. Make it happen

  8. While I agree that stars are important for the league the most important thing is that it's big market teams are in the finals. For example if you look at the finals ratings from 1999 to 2008 the league had either the Lakers or Knicks in the finals 6 times in 10 years. Those finals averaged at LEAST 15 viewers per game. In the 4 finals where the league didn't have either one of those teams the MOST viewers they got were 13.

  9. the NBA never needed any single player.

They'll lean on a player if they get popular, but no player is bigger than the league, the league makes the player popular, not the other way around.

  10. I can’t stand watching shai, I respect the hell out of Jokic, Gianni’s isn’t mvp type anymore, LeBron and Steph are old, Wemby’s too young, and Luka, brunson and Mitchell are top notch scorers but ANTHONY EDWARDS IS MUST SEE TV. Just need him to shine more often.

  11. As someone who’s a new basketball fall, the past 2 years…I can absolutely confirm that it’s someone like Ant “must see TV” is what made me a fan! Absolutely! He’s unbelievable to watch. His energy, his enthusiasm. 100%!

  12. If Ant can be more consistent he'd be the face of the league. Sometimes Ant and the Wolves are just disinterested and will lose to a terrible team. They jusy need the cattle prod and they can beat most teams.

  13. You could say this about pretty much any team obviously, but if this Wolves team could all just click together at the same time they're almost impossible to beat. Naz and Donte destroying from 3, Ant and Randle iso/shoot or kick, Rudy crashing the boards and getting lobs. Even Jaden McDaniels can pretty much score 30 any given night. The problem is, outside of Ant there's basically no consistency. If they ever find that, they'll be hard to stop

  14. You know, Jason we really need to take some time to recognize what a great head of lettuce you got, and should be protected at all cost. With that said the wolves really need a consistent point guard that can distribute and take the ball handling pressure off of Ant,and go get a bucket on his own when needed. That would get the wolves over “the hump”

  15. Ready for this take? The nba was a soap-opera about African American men………. That’s what the nba sold and that’s what the audience bought…. The lighter the league gets……………. You catch my drift! The AAU has socioeconomically closed the InnerCity to NBA pipeline that created the stars of the past! 🤷🏾 amateur basketball is now a middle to upper class sport OR a club sport (international) which is why you see more mixed nba players and more international players……. Follow the money ……. You will find the answer…….. this is why it FEELS like the nba needs antman…… he WISELY turned down the idea of being “the face of the league” cuz he’s seen how the nba sold LeBron, KD, iverson etc……. Like a drama filled soap opera……

  16. He’ll never get to the level you’re talking about unless he’s in a major market. NY is best, people are tired of the league always “making “ the Lakers. Chicago just doesn’t have it anymore. Yep, gotta be the Knicks.

  17. You've been underestimating the Wolves for years.
    Picked the Suns. Wolves sweep
Picked the Nuggets Wolves in 7

Picked the Lakers. Wolves in 5
Picked the OLD Warriors. Wolves in 5.

You'll probably pick against them in round 1 again.

  18. I’ve been a wolves fan through the passing on curry days, David khan, Ricky Rubio, Kevin love and early KAT. Imagine how I feel getting to watch ant every day for someone who lives 20 mins from target center and can go watch him anytime I want. Idc that’s he’s not #1 yet, I get the best show when I watch him fly or drop 20 in 10 minutes like I’ve seen him do.

He works so hard. He will become even more unstoppable, don’t worry.

MN just doesn’t play with the effort they need to play at peak defensive potential unless it’s an important game, good opponent or the playoffs.

They will mature and when they do, they will lift the trophy. It’s coming. I see it every other night. When he’s 27 like the other guys that started winning chips, it will be his time.

  19. BS!! This is an American-centric garbage take. The nba has a bunch of box office players, Giannis, Luka and Wemby plus a range of others are better, and very entertaining. It’s literally a sport, nationality shouldnt factor into entertainment, these players are super exciting. Jason is really biased, he froths American players like KD, Bron and ANT. Sorry dude, a new era is here.
