I don't think the Cubs have any money.
They won't do anything. All the Ricketts care about is lining their pockets with cash and the fans don't care.
Pitching is a high-risk premium.
If they were really serious about getting an ace and rebuild the bullpen with good arms, they would have done it by now. What are they going to do if Imai picks another team? Gallen isn’t an ace anymore. Different season but the same disappointment.
The Cubs aren't going to sign any quality pitchers; the owner is stingy and doesn't want to invest. He'd be better off selling the team.
