22. It's not coming this year. We lost the back to back against Detroit in the preseason. Montreal rocked us like a month ago. It's been obvious. Even if they crawl back in, it'll be another dismal performance. Blues cup years don't happen for the Leafs. Tear down. Trade the stars for picks…but Treliving is not the GM to do that. Hire Boudreaux as interim coach while we're at it

23. The "No Cookies" situation, is part of a systemic, underlying problem between Sammy and this program, but specifically – and more importantly – his utter distain for Mr. Kypreos. If i am being honest, its quite creepy. I think a restraining order might be a good start…….other than that, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

32. How many coaches does it take for the Leafs to win a championship? 26 and counting. It ain't the coach.

33. It starts and ends with ownership…the hires ownership make and vision or lack there of that ownership has. The players on this team (and frankly for last 10years) lack character because the ownership has always lacked character. Mathews should never have been given the C…he does not possess the Character to wear it. In fact the "C" on a players jersey quite simply stands for Character. Marner had more character than Matthews. Last season the leafs won and were just fine without #34 for long stretches. That should have told ownership who to keep and who cut bait with. Nylander honestly doesn't care about winning or losing…unless he's wearing a jersey with Three Crowns on it. The rest are average players at best. This team has driven out, or passed up on more "Character players" than any team in League history. Ownership of this team are simply not good judges of character and have not been for decades…because are have alwys been of weak character themselves.

35. When the coach expects effort and hustle for 60 mins, and actually intends to keep players accountable, I can understand why the Leafs players don't like it. They've been coddled for the last decade never having to be accountable to anything. Haven't had this feeling before Willie? Having to be accountable for your lack of effort? Matthews inability to take accountability for himself is the opposite of what a Captain should be acting like. These guys don't know what it takes to be a professional athlete a decade later, doesn't matter how many GMs/Coaches you have, that onus is on the players now, they've been spoiled.

45. Fixing the mess resulting from the Shanahan/Dubas years is going to take time and in my mind an almost complete rebuild. It is time to give up on Matthews and Nylander and Rielly. These guys prove every year no matter who the coach it that they just are not going to get it done in the playoffs. They appear to have a complete lack compete and often look disinterested in playing. The no trade clauses given were a huge mistake. You save those for players that are truly elite and have proven themselves in the playoffs and not until then and then not everyone, maybe one or two players. Matthews is no captain, he never says anything of value. The fact that Matthews thinks they are fine says it all … he is clueless. He has no idea how to be a captain and lead the team. Tank, try and get the first pick and see if you can get Matthews and Nylander and Rielly to wave their no trade clauses to try and get more draft picks and more prospects from other teams. And stop trading away the future every year when you have no chance of winning anything.

46. yeah, Mitch was the problem alright, your topo gigio captain is the problem, Mitch has way more points than ole Topo Gigio, it's over no playoff's this year, fire the coaches, fire the gm, fire the president, but what ever you don't trade the heartless and not very good players, keep making the same mistakes and expect different results, you should be begging Mike Babcok to come back and treat these marshmello cream puff plays to some good ole bag skating and maybe run the bleachers with full equipment on, Topo Gigio is no leader, he's a follower, he'd be a number 5 or 6 on a good team, wake up leaf wanna be nation
