Oh if we can only trade Laine to TO to play with Matthews. Treviling might make this trade as would Hughes
Carolina is a speed team that pressures the living hell out of their opponents at 5 on 5 and everyone who puts on their jersey has to buy into that, so I don't think Laine fits their style of play at all. The Kings already have the Russian version of Laine in Andrei Kuzmenko. Contenders are contenders because they already have a lot of talent, they typically want good defensive players in their bottom 6. I don't think it will be as easy to dump Laine even at 50% retained as Marco suggests.
