[Beacon Journal] Judge temporarily blocks Ohio from using unclaimed funds for Cleveland Browns

Somebody should start a GoFund Me for Jimmy Haslem. That poor man is going to starve now.
“Franklin County Judge has unclaimed funds from the Haslam group before he can approve using ohioians money”
Rich people plundering public funds is the #1 priority of this country
So many people vote exclusively for this to happen.
Not sure why this is an issue.
In plain speak:
“Money hasnt hit my bank account yet for me to approve of this. Here’s my price.”
Make it permanent.
Good thing I pulled mine out anyways.
Fuck you Jimmy hahaha
How about these unclaimed funds go to schools and maybe homeless shelters? To think this is priority number 1 really proves how lost we truly are
So the original announcement that this was happening led me to a search to find that I had like $1,600 sitting there… long story short, I got a good chunk of debt paid off this year.
To be fair, the entire state will benefit from the new stadium in Brook Park. But Jimmy should have put up 75% of the money and 25% from the state.
Took 4 months, but I finally got my money from the unclaimed funds.
So from what I’m reading.
December 9th, a federal Judge said the State could transfer the 1.7B on Jan 1, but didn’t dismiss the case. This case is being appealed.
On December 23rd, a Franklin County Judge put a 14 day restraining order on transferring the 1.7B, but I haven’t found anything about if he made any comments other than issuing the 14 day stay. And this is a completely separate case to the other one.
But this 14 day stay says nothing about the legality of using those funds at all, so no one should be excited or upset or feel much of any reaction to this news.
Edit: The case being appealed has 4 people with unclaimed funds, the case with the 14 day stay was brought by 2 former dem lawmakers. I wonder if they will be ruled as lacking standing as they don’t have unclaimed funds.
