I hope he's like David Ortiz going from Minnesota to Boston
Trade Hunter…
He's played 6 seasons and has been a 110 OPS+ hitter or less in 4 of the 6 seasons. He's been more Jonathan India than an MVP candidate.
Now imagine trading a starting pitcher prospect with multiple years of control for one underwhelming season of LRJ and then having to buy him out in 2027. It would be a collosal failure of a trade.
"If you get the back of the baseball card, a guy who hits .250 with an ops around .770 – sign me up for that. That's what the team needs."
Does someone need to say it? That was literally Austin Hays with a worse batting average! He was .266 with a .768 ops AND hit more home runs (and more hits) in less at-bats.
Just please do something😢
Go for it (Robert Jr)! I think getting him out of Chicago and into Great American Smallpark would do wonders for us both.
No more Akiyamas
Why the hell would they "chase" this guy? He is horrible. I'm telling Krall needs to be fired. He has no idea what talent really means.
If he’s cheap get Lou Bob. But I think make a big trade. Send Lodolo, Friedl and Dunn to the Orioles for Cowser,Mayo and Kjerstad.
Luis Robert, another oft injured, underperforming player.Theres a reason noone else has gone after him.
FYI :
2022
Groin: Dealt with a groin issue in April.
COVID-19: Missed time in May.
Wrist: Suffered a fractured scaphoid bone in his left wrist, requiring surgery and extended recovery.
Leg/Other: Also dealt with a general leg issue and other minor ailments.
2023
Hamstring: A strain in April.
Appendicitis: Missed time in May.
Calf: Missed the All-Star Game due to a calf injury.
Finger: Sprained his right pinky finger.
Knee/Hip/Quad: Experienced other short stints on the IL for various issues.
2024
Hip Flexor: A Grade 2 right hip flexor strain in April, costing him 62 games.
Adductor: Another issue in April.
2025
Hamstring: A strained left hamstring in August, leading to another IL stint.
I hope he works out . The reds have a history of quirks
I think the main attraction for the Reds front office is he could be just a one year rental. If he takes off then there is a club option for the next year. If the WS pay say one half of his salary Reds may have to give up a player they don't want to but that's the world of trades.
Another International person of color who sucks. 🤮
We do not have any money. This is embarrasing, we have to give up good looking talents, for someone who is not good. We do have a good team. Lets go Reds lets do this
If they do this trade they also need to sign Miguel andjuire too
If we get Luis Robert Jr I'll get my season tickets
Get him — he will move the needle like nobody else could – all rounder
I think you are underestimating the Pirates. They have a lot of good pitching. Maybe not quite as good as our overall rotation but they are at least trying to make some changes. They should not be underestimated. Also, Pittsburg might not be done either adding more offense or adding to their bullpen. There are several pretty good relievers out there too.
I don't hate the deal completely because he does have potential to be good, but the recent history is not great.
The White Sox won their division in 2021.
Yep, typical Cincinnati professional sports move. This dude will not make this team any better … 259 life time batting average 😂 30% strike out rate 😂 yep go get him Cincinnati. Bet it fills the stands.. dudes hit 38 homers one time in his career.. other than that averages 13 homers a season..
