Tennessee Titans Should SAY NO TO MATT NAGY in Head Coaching Search & Concerning Candidate Reports

The Tennessee Titans head coaching search is still the most important thing they must handle ahead of them and as we get closer to the end of the season when the search will really ramp up, we start to get more reports on what the options could be. Matt Nagy, the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and former Chicago Bears head coach, continues to be named as a possibility. The Titans should not hire Matt Nagy and the fact he keeps coming up is concerning. The rest of the recently reported names doesn’t inspire a lot of hope either. It is limited on the offensive side of the ball and some great options aren’t mentioned that should be. However, these reports always have an intent so we should not take them as certainty. Finally, Jeffery Simmons made the pro bowl in the AFC and he should also win an all-pro spot with it. Chimere Dike also got a pro-bowl nod as a returner in the AFC. A tremendous feat as a rookie.

  1. Titans would be better off keeping Commander McCoy and Bo Hardegree than hiring Matt Nagy as HC. The offense is starting to look respectable now. Finish off the season with a few more wins are more favorable now that the tank has derailed.

  3. Tyler, I think you are underestimating the Titans on this selection process as far as considering Matt Naggy. It's very obvious that you personally don't like him. I don't think the Titans Leadership would select someone just because of past relationship – or "The Good Ole Boy" system, as they made that mistake with Callahan and his cronies. If they don't hire Naggy, I think Shula just may be a shoe-in. But don't forget Klint Kubiac who hasn't been mentioned.

  18. Im not gonna lie I'm all in on Chris Shula. He can bring in good offensive minds as well. But with that being said if Jon harbough is let go which I think it's a strong chance he might be. I think you gotta go get him

  20. Why hasn't Mike McCoy had any consideration for the job? The Titans have played better ever since he has took over the interim role. The players clearly play for him. The penalties and silly mistakes have slowly decreased over the last few weeks. Game management has improved as well. I'd take McCoy over any of these guys rumored for the job.

  22. Tyler, I agree with most of your takes on Nagy & I definitely don't want him as our HC. However, I don't understand this revisionist history where Trubisky's best season was his rookie season. That's not true at all. Trubisky's best season was his 2nd season, in 2018, under Nagy. Again, this isn't me giving an argument for us hiring Nagy. I'm JS, Nagy did get the best out of Trubisky in 2018. Nagy won COTY that year, largely because Trubisky played well enough for the Bears to go 12 – 4.

  23. So if Borganzi goes to Amy with Nagy as the choice, you are saying she should say no? So many people saying Amy needs to stay out of it and let Borganzi make the choice and the ONLY reason Nagy would be the choice is his relationship with the FO.

  25. Bo and Mike McCoy should not be on the staff next season. Even though the team is playing a tad bit better, it’s still not that good. Terrible trick plays, barely calling timeouts, running the ball on almost every single play, playing hurry-up when the half is almost over just to take a field goal, etc. I like to see a staff that is ultra-aggressive and is great at calling plays, even in some situations that matter the most.

I really do think that they wanted to get every DC from the afc south in to see what they think of cam ward and his strengths and weaknesses/what they think of him from other people, not because they actually want them to be a HC just to pick their brains because they see them twice this season

  32. As a BEARS fan, Hey Titans fans Please Say No to Nagy. You might as well bring back Callahan, if you want nagy as your head coach. He is trash.
