JJ redick takes a jab at one of his own players

  1. I honestly think that it’s way better if they handle these kinds of things internally

  2. Luka and LeBron may still like him but he’s asking to lose the rest of the guys if you take jabs like this. That’s something you address internally, no need to tell this to the media.

  3. Forget adding wing stoppers…the iq on this team past 4 players is sooooo bad lol.
There was a clip floating around of Laravia fucking up a set so bad the coaching staff threw their hands up in disgust.

These guys don’t be watching film

  4. Massively decreased running sets, and taking jabs at his players. What the hell happened to JJ this year

  5. If your players don’t understand strategy or gameplans then that’s on the coaching staff. This is a bad sign. I like jj but this is concerning that he’s shifting blame.

  6. This is ridiculous to say publicly. And I know JJ is saying it because he constantly is trying to speak coach lingo to let everyone know he’s super smart and knows what he is doing.

He wants everyone to know this isn’t his fault he just has players that don’t know basic basketball terms.

But this makes him look even worse bc why would you not be educating your players on these terms? Seems to me you aren’t teaching them anything and they aren’t learning from you if they didn’t know this term.

But yes let’s call them out publicly. That’s more of a reflection on JJ than it is on that player in my opinion.

  7. I’m sorry I have but jj actually hasn’t adjusted to people countering his game plan that had been effective up until the first suns game. It’s been a month. He has still not implemented any methods of countering top locking on off ball screens. He runs no ice beating concepts, la’s slob and blob game has divulged into 3 plays that opponents have no scouted for and you’re now seeing the problems with inbounding the ball. Teams are playing a deep drop keeping it 2v2 or switching to keep the ball in front of them and la are countering it correctly less. When we run into these switching teams they’ll often send help on these perimeter and post isos and jj will typically have the 4 other players stay stationary rather than trying to beat the help with any off ball screens cutting or fill and replacement action that removes the help or attacks it. He can talk all he wants about playing hard but the decisions by this team were bizarre. Devin booker doesn’t have the foot speed or the three point pull up to justify chasing over the top. Go under and jump to meet on the other side because once he is gets you in jail that’s where he shines as a scorer. We then decided to bizarrely play drop against Gillespie and brooks. Those guys don’t have the foot speed to attack bigger players so just switch it and get a good contest. Instead we let Gillespie walk into threes and brooks was on some bullshit I think we made his shots hard he just made things. I think this poor game planning attributes about 70 percent of the loss while only 30 percent comes from his pplayers not executing. Like brons rotations were pathetic but the advantage the suns got from attacking our shitty help defense tactics and balls green defense which were decisions clearly made by the staff was the reason we got walloped. I’m not entirely out on jj but I rarely see him put any of the blame on himself which clearly shows a lack of ability to hold himself accountable or he’s too much much an idiot to realise Jordan ott presented a game plan a month ago to beat the lakers and since then it’s been used consistently with no counter back from the staff

  8. There’s like 4 players this can be DK, vando, maxi or nick smith JR.

This is both on JJ and the player. JJ for not teaching the person what it is and who ever it is fault for not paying attention or speaking out that they don’t know what a “flood” is.

  9. Sounds like JJ is feeling the pressure. Worst thing he can do is start blaming players, even if it is mostly their fault.

Don’t be Doc Rivers. Take full responsibility for your team’s performance. Berate them in private.
