Loved having him when he was an assistant coach with us, had to dig deep to “hate” on him during our rivalry runs with the Sharks in the PO, and followed him again in Edm and LAK, were stoked to see him coming back and finally have someone be reasonable and clear in his coaching philosophy. If this ends up being his last stop I really hope we can find success and win with him, seems to really fit in.
My only complaint if you can even call it that is that he says offense funny
Someone with experience to kick our guys in the ass a bit vets and young guys.
We know he has a shelf life as all coaches do and Watson might be his successor but for the time being Todd’s exactly what we need and needed
Someone to say straight up this isnt good enough
I still don’t like how they play shorthanded but Todd was a helluva hire
And one year later on the fast track to win the Jack Adams
I remember people complaining that he wasn’t a good playoff coach. It’s like, bitch? We’ll worry about the damn playoff performances after we’ve returned to them 3-4 times in a row.
We need to get there first and I fully believe Todd has earned this team until we do. And then he’s earned the chance to prove he can take them to the next step.
