[NHL Rumour Report] David Pagnotta: Re Sabres/Byram/Power rumours: Two guys that teams checked in on; this would be talent-for-talent; if they can add another piece up front…by moving out one of those guys…I think that’s something that would be enticing to them – Sportsnet Today (12/22)

  1. Really don’t want to move on from Power. Especially at his age. Would have to be something decent coming back.

  2. Move Power if you get a real return. Don’t offload him just for the sake of a move. Good teams sometimes say good bye to good players because they need something they don’t have. That’s just good business.

  3. My fantasy trades:

    -Quinn and a third for Kiefer Sherwood;

-Byram and a second for Rasmus Andersson.

  4. On a 7 game win streak why would you want to change the dynamics of the room ?
Just another guy in Toronto with nothing better to do today than post fantasy league moves. Brought to you by BET 360 !

  5. If you are serious about hockey trades and being built future, 1 of those 2 will have to be moved. A true hockey deal for either might be more of an off season move.

I’d also love to see Quinn, Greenway and krebs moved out as I dont think they are integral pieces but none if those 3 are bringing premium or choice pieces

  6. I’d almost rather trade futures for roster players at this point but what about Bo for Robo?

-TIL Byram isn’t very coveted or highly regarded?

  7. If they want to move Power.

    Rust, Kulak & a 2nd in 26 for Power?

Would that work? Money is close. No one has no trade/movement. Jarmo gets a 2nd that he didn’t have. Buffalo gets a F who is close to PP/G for the last couple of years

  8. i might be in the minority here but I’d keep Byram long term and move Power if I was trading one. I like Bo’s game and playoff experience much more than Power’s intangibles. Power also likely has the higher trade value

  9. In terms of moving power I really do believe that if there is a solid deal there it would be safe to move on from him, the sabres do have some decent defensive prospects they should be thinking of bringing up I’d really like to see what novikov has cause I think he could be a solid contributor, same with komarov

  10. I’m just gobsmacked there’s a serious possibility of a good trade because we have a GM that could actually like… make something worthwhile happen

  11. Power is good at hockey, by all the analytics.

People that hate him probably don’t like that he doesn’t play the body, or hit hard. Or the don’t think he’s working hard out there.

If Timmins makes the same play as OP, it looks like Timmins is trying hard. Legs pumping, short strides. Power is just smooth.

Watch in a year or two when we have two of the best Dmen in the league, or we trade him and he absolutely blows up.

  12. I’d prefer to move Byram. Never seemed like he wanted to be here and he’s like a B version of Dahlin. Power is never going to be a physical player but is signed long term and when on top of his game he can control the pace and be effective. The only way I’d agree to a Power trade would be for a return like we got with Peterka. A physical RHD and a top 6 forward with some grit for Power. Otherwise, Byram for a top 6 forward.
