make ichiro the hitting coach
Stop crying abiut it, the jays did the same thing in game 5 and lost, which cancels out this one. If tor win game 5 there would of been no seven. So stop blaming decisions as excuses. One team wins. These guys just need to kill time so break it down like its physics of rocket science
There's no rebound, your owner lost millions because the tridents or the forks whatever you call that….. has one of the worst fan Attendance in the MLB in the last 20 years the only regular season games you had almost half the seats sold is when you play the Jays and they are more Jays fans than tridents ( a home game for the Jays on the road 😂) your first baseman didn't even took an interview because he will certainly never come back because y'all can't afford a glass of water . There's already talks about moving the only team in baseball that never won the World Series! Somalia or Costa rica would be a better location for the future 😂😂😂😂😂
Bazardo was definitely better than brash or speier in the alcs. Can't blame him
Mariners lost their chance unfortunately. Youre asking Cal Raleigh to hit another 60 homers, plus going to try and sign better contact hitters that may or may not work out. The starting pitchers are also going to have similar years to last year. Its too much to replicate
Who have the Blue Jays spent money on in free agency that we would rather have??? Santander? Hoffman? No thanks. Bassit and Scherzer aren't better than any of our 5 starters. Gausman, I guess? But that same off season we actually did shell out for robbie ray. We chose the wrong guy, but we did spend a lot. They did make a lot of trades at the deadline which we could've done a bit more of, but those weren't about payroll
why did you make such weirdo moves dan, why oh why? dan was such a smart catcher, i thought it would translate better.
As a DBACKS fan, Naylor stung the most when we traded him. Don't lose him. He's the smartest player playing today.
This series and year felt like the year when we lost to Atlanta Falcon in 2012, the year Seahawks got Wilson, and went to straight chips after that Falcon loss. This felt like that but for the Mariners. I believe greatness is forged through many struggles. I rather we face them now early so our “karma” is paid so that our future may be reset and looking upwards.
nothing to do with the jays being an awesome team… just sour grapes.
The M's were definitely helped this year by the Astros' injury woes. Something we can't count on every year. The team needs to focus on moves that will allow it to win the AL West or earn a wildcard spot consistently.
The 2022 appearance in the ALDS was the first such appearance in 21 years. At that rate, we won't sniff the ALCS for another 2 decades. When the M's put a consistently competitive team on the field, then we can finally make it to the promised land. Until then, I fear, the M's will continue to disappoint and break hearts.
No one talks about Schneider bringing in Little in Game 6, a much worst decision. You Mariners lost to a much better team so stop living in denial that you should have won
I don’t agree with Jeff. The Mariners have blown 3 extra chances at a WS by missing the playoffs in 2021, 2023, and 2024. You don’t just get handed playoff spots year after year. The window is closing
Classic Mariners copium lol
Up to Ownership to be hungry. Keep Naylor and find high contact hitters to supplement the lineup. Add a few relievers. If you can swing for a true Ace without crippling the team… do it. We have the stars to get back, but the bottom of the lineup and bullpen need some upgrades.
The Blue Jays made the same mistake the Mariners made in game 7. If Snider decided to not put in the Jays worst reliever in a 1 run game in the 8th inning the Jays would have won this series in game 6.
We Mariner fans know not to count our chickens before they hatch
Need a salary floor, not cap. Owners are cheap stakes – they’re all billionaires, they can afford it
It's somewhat similar situation/argument to the infamous 'Marshawn should have run the ball at the goal line'. in the end, winner gets all the benefit of doubt and loser gets all the blames.
Mariners struck out TWICE as much as the Jays this ALCS. They have no plate discipline, always swing on first pitch with RISP and cannot manufacture runs besides the long ball. That simply does not work and translate well in the playoffs. They were lucky to be in Game 7.
Bunting once was the problem. Needed to bunt twice.
Get a manager who knows how to manage a pitching staff.
Dodgers swept the Mariners in the last series. It wasn't just because the Mariners had already won division and didn't care.
I don’t understand why they pitched to Springer in that situation. He had 8 career postseason go ahead homers (tied 3rd all time) and something like 23 postseason homers (tied 3rd all time). There were runners on second and third with only one out. Walk Springer and the double play is an option with Zardo pitching to the next guy who was 0-3. I like that situation.
I cringed when they pulled Kirby while he was still rolling. Looked like he could've gone the rest of the way. Read below for what I'd surmise are used-to-low-standards M's fans being way-too-nice (PNW style?) to Dan Wilson. -Dodgers fan
Jeff Passan claims to be a Seattle guy but wants Aaron Judge to win MVP lmao
Dan Wilson is a nice person, but terrible manager. No idea what he is doing. Has added religion to the clubhouse. Great, let’s rely on that!!!!😡. Is he ever going to own up to his lack of ability to solve complex situations. Feel for the guys,…they played their hearts out. We cannot afford this ever again. Too many details ignored. Boo hiss. Get rid of him
Dan Wilson is a manager from 15 years ago. That's the problem.
I would be interested to see how the mariners compare to others when they have 2 or 3 runners on with less than 2 outs and don't score.
I mean on the other hand putting a pitcher in that Springer has seen multiple times might not be the best either as they had gotten used to some of the relievers seeing them night after night
In between our home run hitters we need base hits. We need a right fielder and we need a DH. An ace like Paul Skenes would really help too. A pitcher who when he’s on the mount you know the team your playing will only score one run if their lucky.
If we wanna win we need to resign naylor, planco and surez and another big free agent like Bergman
I don't think Seitzer is the problem by any means, but perhaps we swap him for an assistant manager that actually knows how to manager a game when it matters, who can be the voice of reason in these crucial moments. Because it seems like Dan, Edgar and Kevin were lacking in the strong voice of reason to point the ship in the right direction. I think it's become obvious that Dan lacks it, in multiple ways. Like not walking Springer, with first base open, runners on second and third, and one out. And Springer is their second most dangerous hitter. Every manager EVER knows that this is when you intentionally walk the guy. Take the bat out of his hands, set up double play, and put a force at every base, including home. It's Management 101. And it's something Dan should have done multiple times in both of these series, and not doing so led to home runs, tie games, and losses.
Game 3, 3rd inning, we've just given up 3 runs, and Toronto has runners on second and third, with two outs, first base is open… you could walk Daulton Varsho to put a force at every plate for Barger, a risk, sure, but not doing so also tells your opponent that we like the pain you've been dopling out… keep the hits coming! We won't even change our pitcher, either! We like living on the edge! 🤮 Let's be honest: being proactive to try and stop the bleeding tells your players, and their players, that we'll do what we have to to make this stop. Dan did nothing to make it stop. Varsho doubled in two more runs. Next inning, two outs, no one on base, and Springer comes up. Maybe this isn't a bad time to control the game and IBB Springer…? Nope. And Springer hit another home run. Fast forward to game 7, 7th inning, and Springer is up the bat. A smart manager would have learned their lessons and said "Nope!" and walked Springer to load the bases. And then you bring in Munoz instead of Bazardo, obviously. But it's like Dan never learned anything while playing catcher, or , well, being around baseball his whole life.
Make it all make sense. Because right now I can't help but question if games were getting rigged, because the decision-making was that bad and illogical. And I'm a Mariners fan, and love Dan. But this just makes no sense.
Naylor is a Super Star! ⭐️ 🔱💙
Even if you bring and munoz and he give it up there.. i still think you feel just the tiniest bit better about it in the end.. know that in the biggest moment in the history of the team you brought in the best you have. There really are no what ifs at that point. Although.. i doubt munoz gives up a homerun. Maybe he gives up a hit but it doesnt leave the park.
It’s the same as passing the ball when you’ve got Marshawn Lynch
