5. If we lose Bregman, so what. He a good fielder. He has leadership. But his bat is not fantastic. Almost anyone can match his seasons statistics. Don’t overspend for years. Some teams overpay out of desperation. This is business not emotions. We do need one more power bat. Someone capable of 25 homers.

Bo Bichette likely will remain in Toronto unless the Blue Jays sign Kyle Tucker … Tucker is represented by Casey Close of Excel Sports Mgt. and is the next "big domino" to fall in "hot stove" free agency this off season … I don't believe any of Scott Boras' clients, which include Alex Bregman, will sign until Tucker does … Would not be all that surprised if Tucker heads out to LA to play for the Dodgers as they attempt to "three peat" next year …

   With regard to Alex Bregman, i agree that the D-backs will want to move Ketel Marte first … Should Bregman return to Boston, I think John Henry will expect him and Boras to be willing to defer enough money so the organization can best position its payroll in strategically dealing with its 2026 Competitive Balance Tax (CBT) … Henry I'm also sure has not lost sight of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) expiring in early December next year and the potential implications that may have on his future "bottom line"… Whether Red Sox Nation likes it or not, it will all ultimately come down to the almighty dollar as far John Henry is concerned …

7. Folk's this man never wanted to be here. He didnt get what he wanted last off season and came to Boston thinking he was gonna rake and hit the market again. Well, he didn't and still opted out. We lost Devers because of this. Basically gave him away for a bag of balls.

9. Arizona media also said Marte is not a bad guy. He's a quiet guy who likes to take days off. Load management. They leaked out stuff that ruined his reputation. Because of that he hasn't been traded yet because they are being lowballed with offers. A mistake Arizona has admiited. Arizona snake territory reported this on YouTube. I would love for the Sox's to acquire Marte and Donovan who can play 3b. Sox's can keep Mayer and slowly break him in at SS or when an opportunity opens up due to injury. Marte and Donovan would make less annually combined than Bregman and fill 2 voids in the infield. Plus add versatility between Marte, Donovan, and Contreras who can play other positions.

10. The consequence of not signing Bregman is having to pivot to yet another trade. They're NOT signing Bichette. He's too rich for their blood. So, instead of just spending the money for a bat, now young pitching (Tolle/Early)will be sacrificed for a bat like Marte who I'm not convinced can do it in a big, pressure filled market. Oh, he'll want an extension as well, right??? Of course he will. All they had to do was sign a bat, but now their typical stupidity will weaken the pitching staff… typical one step forward, two steps back from these jugheads.

13. Sometimes fans conflate how much something "makes sense" to them with how good that something is. It may well "make sense" to the player themselves. "We" (i.e. fans) can be pretty myopic.

16. How important is it to Bregman (looking for his statements, not opinion) to win a 3rd WS ring? If "very" the Red Sox off-season FA "activity" doesn't seem it'll influence him to return to BOS.

17. It seems to me that for Bregman (and, ALWAYS, with Boras) it's 100% about the money. Boras does get in trouble with overestimating his client's value at times but his counsel is always to maximize one's income during their short career. That said, the Sox don't have much of a recent history of outbidding anyone- it's been years. All said and done: Bregman is a goner.

18. The DBacks weren't in a position to sign Bregman, last year, bc they still had Suarez. This year 3B is open.

21. The host did say that Marte would need to be traded first. If AZ signs Bregman before trading Marte, they lose some leverage if they have to trade him to pay for Bregman.

    I am beginning to wonder how bad the clubhouse stuff is to want to trade Marte on that team friendly contract.
