Matchup: TOR @ TB, Date: 2022-09-22

This is the last Bichette RISP XBH for 2022, and it was a typical horrendous Trop game so not much to talk about.

So here's how the 2022 Bichette story started vs how it ended:

Split HR RBI BA OBP SLG OPS TB sOPS+
April/March 2 8 .213 .237 .298 .535 28 58
Sept/Oct 7 27 .406 .444 .662 1.105 88 212

Bo went on such a insane heater during the month of September that he normalized his stats in what could have been a down year. If all you did was pull up his Fangraphs page, you'd never know he had a slump that year.

His 2022 was a reminder (to those that care to be reminded, anyway) that player development is not linear, and that a 24 year old struggling in the big leagues for the first time is not necessarily cause for alarm or an indication that their whole career is cooked.

Anyway, tomorrow we'll move on to 2023, which was a pretty uneventful Bichette year until August…

  1. They say if you say Septembo 3 times in the mirror an opposite field extra base hit appears

  2. It’s kinda crazy how small Bo’s market must be, there’s hardly anything on him ever, other than him saying he’d play 2B, which was a given anyways considering his defence at SS.. kinda shocked his market isn’t as big as I thought it would be given he’s a .300 hitter and usually leads the AL in hits or is pretty close to it..

Maybe the Jays have said go find your market and we’ll beat it by X amount. Jays should jump all over a 6/175 deal with opt outs

  3. I think Scott Mitchell’s cryptic/deranged tweets are suggesting Tucker is a Blue Jay. It’s too bad that Bo never took to Toronto

  4. Bogust doesn’t have the same ring to it as SeptemBo but I’m a simple gal; Bobo hits, I’m happy
