I can’t tell if they’re making him play through this injury because they refuse to tank, or because they think it helps the tank having a reduced capacity MHJ out there, but either way, it continues to feel like a strange choice to me.
I get he’s young and there’s value in getting these reps in games where the growing pains we bore witness to early in the year no longer hurt us, but he was playing like he was hurt last week and it wasn’t good for anyone. It made him him an ineffective target on the offense, while risked him furthering the injury, or worse, having the kind of injury that carries over into next season on another part of his body because of he’s not putting his full weight on his heel, putting some other muscle or bone in an awkward spot.
If nothing else I guess I’ll give him credit for not just going on IR like most everyone else has been lately, but presumably choosing to play through the pain. It shows some toughness that he doesn’t generally appear to show with his play. Still believe it’d make more sense to sit him though, even if only for his own good.
Great, now this coaching staff can blow out his knees too
