The Yankees Are Running Out of Excuses

The pressure is building on the New York Yankees — and fans can feel it.

With an MLB lockout looming, the Yankees’ lack of movement this offseason is starting to raise serious questions. In this episode, I break down how the uncertainty around a potential lockout could be impacting front offices, why the Yankees may be hesitant to make major moves right now, and why that explanation isn’t sitting well with fans.

Yankees fans are used to their team being aggressive. They’re used to action. And right now, the silence is frustrating — especially as other teams continue to make meaningful moves across the league.

I talk about the growing disconnect between the front office and the fanbase, the expectations that come with wearing pinstripes, and whether the Yankees can afford to keep waiting while the pressure continues to mount.

If you’re a Yankees fan who’s tired of waiting and wondering what direction this team is heading, this is a conversation worth having.

  1. Need to clean house in the front office and the analytics bullshit.. they cry about not having money and the fans fill those seats every season at Yankee stadium. Spend their hard earned on the apparel. Travel to different stadiums to support the team. They're playing in all of our faces. As of right now i see 3rd place team that may not even make the playoffs.

  2. George Steinbrenner made a huge mistake by hiring his friend's dweeb son as a personal favor. Now, Cashman is literally running the organization as Hal is an ostrich who could care less. Instead of being grateful for the opportunity and realize the game as pass me by. He dugs in both heels and keeps giving the likes of Grisham "QO"

  3. longtime Yankee fan here, new subscriber, all indications are the Yankees are rebuilding in 2026, hoping we get a couple more players that stick like Ben Rice and Schlittler have. So, Jasson, Spencer, Brendan Beck, Lagrange, ERC, among others and Lombard Jr-in 2028. Judge, Stanton and Cole need to be the voices for the young squad and be vocal from the get go not waiting for a collapse. It's on the players to voice and lead since they aren't getting the leadership from the yahoos in the organization!

  4. You're my new favorite baseball channel. I really enjoy the raw, genuine commentary. I've enjoyed the live streams in particular. I have a four month baby and she and I stay up and listen to you so that Mommy can sleep.

  5. I haven’t been optimistic since 2018. Their hitting mentality hasn’t changed and it’s cost them every year since.
I have been calling for Cashman & Boone to be fired since 2019.

  6. You should be our left fielder right now but instead you’re pumping out daily content on why the team stinks. We don’t even claim you gang lol you not even a New Yorker

  7. Feels like they went cheap and didn't want to get Lindor, Harper, Seager, Freeman, Olson, Machado, etc. They went bargain hunting and decided to waste the value for their prospects. It doesn't help that Standon is injured every year, (though he's earned his stripes in the playoffs) and the dodgers faced insane injuries too and overcame it two years in a row. They also have lost value in the .300 20hr guy who is baseball smart. The Bernie Williams, Paul Oniels, Derek Jeters. Half the team is a black hole of hitting .200 and or playing out of position, and I'm talking about the last 5+ years or so. The 2024 world series should have woken them up. How is it that the biggest and most successful team in sports has become a team that struggles to employ the basic fundamentals of the sport. They just recently started bunting guys over again, they STILL suck in extra inning games. It's just wild. Their hitting philosophy is obviously broken, they don't hit food pitching well. They barely scraped by and beat two mid year teams in Cleveland and Kansas City to get to the world series then fell apart. Their pitching is what keeps them alive while they have no timely hitting. Just hoping players with 600 ops will hit a lucky homerun against an elite pitcher. It's tough to watch. Because Judge deserves better than this.

  8. You say they need to fill shortstop, and left field but to me, 3rd is a joke, you can't have player hit 200 and expect to win. But again, shortstop is hitting 200 too.

  9. Lifelong Yankee fan. I’m old like over 60 old. Clint- the Yankees crushed your career and many many others. It’s an inside social club with boot lickers running and making the rules. You didn’t get excepted and no matter how good you were they crushed you because you didn’t bow to the ultimate kingdom. I have totally given up on the Yankee organization. Screw YES network Screw Boone Screw Cashman screw them all. They ruined my love of baseball. Keep unloading Clint they deserve it. And many many more feel the same way.

  10. As a Padres fan, having a GM who makes wild moves is fun. Wish we had the money the Yankees do. The wheel and dealing is fun to watch. Yankees have holes and a GM with ED and won’t make moves. Sad to see. The AL is weak, gotta get your team better

  11. @clint-frazier look I’m 45 so I saw the shit like Donnie not getting a ring to the core 4 dynasty and the rise to 2009 new stadium this is ridiculous and Hal’s a spoiled brat on a yacht saying he’s broke for payment due for us building the stadium we’re suckers our taxes paid to build stadium and we pay ridiculous tickets and stadium prices jersey streaming services to pay back They are absolutely disgusting and I wish NYY fans would be able to boycott but we built a tourist attraction and culture team so they’ll count billions the die hards will suffer and be hustled while we get embarrassed in our house to Sinatra and laughed at love the content best wishes for 26 but fuck Kay Cash Hal and geek squad

  12. Hope you had a great Christmas Clint! Im not sure if it's true or not but when you went to the cubs you were very upset with the yankees according to the press. I was wondering if you are a yankees fan or just a baseball fan?

  13. I don’t know if salary cap will be good or bad for the game, time will tell, but still it’s obvious for any of us that if the cap gets implemented then teams will have time to adjust to it bc you can’t penalize teams for contracts signed before the cap. So I don’t buy that yanks are being cautious bc of the cap coming soon, that’s an excuse IMO

  14. as the way this market is going with lots of big names still on the board ya us yankees fans we can hope they will make big signings or trades but idk what to think right now

  15. Pardon me by saying this, but the yankees administration is doing a very good job, the starter pitchers that are available are not really worth big money on long-term deals, meaning that Cashman is showing restraint on a terrible market, the so called stellar outfielders are not .300 battling average hitters that have shawn signs of declined already, so why spend millions on unworthy talent not living up to the hype of the past. Should the Yankees spend money on an average Joe just to appease the ignorance of the fans?

  16. Re lockout ~ instead of a salary cap ~ the league/owners could insist on a salary basement. Teams shouldn't be eligible for "revenue sharing" unless they actually spend money at a certain level ~ otherwise, we're just rewarding bad play for teams not interested in winning.

  17. Breaking ~ Yankees sign Mexican League MVP Nick Torres ~ plays 1B & outfield ~ sounds like a replacement for Bellinger, so the Yanks may be on the hunt for Bichette. I doubt they sign Tucker to play RF cuz Judge plays right

  18. Hal more or be less spelled it out, Not spending. How about a take off at the concessions & parking?? I’m surprised Clint being right handed hasn’t gotten a phone call yet. Affordable with a chance of lightning in a bottle, Cashman specialty, Again, Not spending .

  19. I’ve always like you brother when you were on the Yankees. You never truly got your shot to show them what you could do. It looks like you’re happier doing what you’re doing right now. I commend you on moving on from the BS to where you are at right now. You’re doing a great job. Keep up the great work!

  20. If the Yankees are going to operate within a 300 million dollar payroll than they have the wrong GM because Cashman is not smart enough and he’s way too complacent to be effective. Given a tight budget you would not trade for a player like Ryan McMan who makes 16 million and you certainly would not sign Trent Grisham for 22 million. These moves make no sense. There are so many better ways to spend that money. For instance how about Harrison Bader AND Pete Fairbanks instead of Trent Grisham? That’s an absolute no brainer. Cashman has no clue on how to be creative with the budget. He gets away with it because the owner doesn’t understand baseball.

  21. Full Transparency, I’m a mets fan not a Yankees fan can’t stand the Yankees… but the play devil advocate. Do you expect Brian to come out and say oh my God I love all the free agents out there. They’re so good. We want them so bad. No, you want him to play Koi… what he could be saying publicly doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what he’s saying privately… now I hope he is not interested in any free agents and your owner is broke, but I don’t believe that to be true yall gonna get someone just like the Mets r gonna land 1 or 2 big players

  22. Clint you deserve more subs I hope you can get a collab or something so more people know you're on here because if they did they would definitely listen to your perspective. I don't think any other former yankee is advocating this hard for their success, its great

  23. What amazes me about the Yankees during the last several seasons is that they have added many excellent players and create an overall team that should do extremely well, but over and over fall short. Plus, injuries.

  24. I always liked you Clint! It was a real shame what they did with you, and what they did and are doing with so many more high rated prospects.

They don't teach baseball in the minors and unfortunately you were a product of that. They wasted what they had in you.

Question for you Clint: Why would anyone want to sign with this team?

  25. Exactly. Our division rivals, AND the Dodgers are only getting better. They're changing and adapting with the times. Hal and Brian are dinosaurs with arrogance who won't catch up with the times and their rivals because they're playing a new man's game as fragile old men

  26. Clint, do you think players like Volpe, Austin Wells and Jasson Domingues could be taught and are willing to be taught positional fundamentals as well as hitting for higher contact with the right coaches, or are they too far gone and more potential talent ruined?
