[Jonathan Acosta] The Sabres are feeling the love from the Buffalo faithful after a sellout crowd tonight on hand to watch an 8th win in a row. Ryan McLeod: “Everyone’s always talking about when we start getting good, there’s no better city to play in and it’s really showing right now.”

  1. Makes me wonder- who has been around long enough to remember The Good Old Days? George Babcock and who else?

  2. I do. I’m 68 and there were times the Sabres owned this city. It’s been too long. I hope we get to that point again

  3. This is the part that Ex- GMKA knew. Buffalo is starving for a good hockey team. Terry is slowly figuring out that while we like our hockey hero’s from the past we don’t get to go to dinner or golf with them. He’s the owner he can, not avg blue collar Buffalo .

We want wins. We will pack the house and buy merch if they win.

    Winning fixes everything .

  4. A lot of these players have heard how great it is to play in Buffalo but haven’t ever actually experienced it. It’s nice that they’re getting a taste. After a certain amount of time I’d imagine they start doubting how good the fans can be, so it’s nice for them to see it.

  5. Only guy on this roster that even has a clue about the Fandom here in Buffalo is Tuch…obviously besides good ol Lindy.. and Marty… oohh soo remember the days of Sabres fans selling out ever game.. that arena SHOOK..and the parties in the plaza…
If only we knew then how good we had it

  6. McLeod sounds like he graduated from one of Canada’s top business schools with really good grades

  7. One of the few American cities where a crowd is so dialed into the real action on the ice and not just the goals.

You can hear the place buzz when the zone is cleared, when a check is made, when a puck is stripped.

Fuck the palm tree, I would think this matters to hockey players.

Many other cities treat hockey games like a corporate outing and the regular people who know and love the game are priced out.

We have a rare, old school gem on our hands and we’re all dying to see good hockey to show the team how much we love the game.
