Mattias Samuelsson dominant season continues in Buffalo Sabres eighth straight win over Bruins

The Buffalo Sabres win streak extends to eight with a dominant win over the Boston Bruins, led by Mattias Samuelsson, who stepped up big time in Rasmus Dahlin’s absence. Samuelsson continues to add offense, on top of his ability to shut plays down defensively. Owen Power also stepped up with a strong performance.

The Sabres forward lines all played well, especially the line of Zach Benson – Ryan McLeod – Jack Quinn. With the win, the Sabres are now tied for a playoff spot with the Florida Panthers, and spots in the Atlantic Division are within striking distance.

  1. Overall a short handed defense played well. Kesselring is looking better each game he plays. They looked like a confident mature team. Krebs becoming scoring machine. The Dunne,G'way, Mal' line is one of the best 4th lines in the league.

  2. I was totally for moving on from adams. I must say though that the two trades at the end of his tenure, two much maligned by the fans, do already look much better than fans thought. Peterka has been inconsistent and cousins defensive numbers are god awful like they were in buffalo. . Doan and norris look pretty good and both bringing a new attitude to the team.

  3. Always dogging on the Sabres, Joe. Two defensemen in the top 10 in the nhl and the others are a 1st and 4th overall pick and we have Kesselring. We have nice center depth with two elite players (Norris and Thompson) with 20 goal scorers throughout the lineup. And we’re just a “fine” team to Joe.

  4. Winning without Dahlin in that way against that team to preserve the win streak? That's a level of compete and maturity we haven't seen from the sabres in what feels like a century

  5. That 2nd period was a great dhowing of resilience. Like the NJ game… we are showing signs of a team that is ready to not get discouraged by a lost or 2..

  6. It really seems like it was all Kevyn Adams. I haven't seen this level of play in a LONG time! I really want to know what woke them up. It is a night and day difference in the attitude and the effort. I really hope they keep this up for the rest of the season!

  7. Joe, that fiery look inbyour eye and thoughts is kinda making me rooting even more for Sabres. Haven't seen that in anyone during me being a bolt fan for the past (around) 30 year fandom of the bolts.
