Randle is older, costs more, and stops the offense just as much as he sucks on defense. He’s the odd man out here.
its not suprising,
we all gotta understand for wolves
their entire offense is ant man, their entire defense is rudy gobert ( so both of these guys are untradeable)
naz ried and jaden mc daniels are the best complementary pieces for ant man , big forwards who can space the floor and do a bit of everything so they normally arent in trade packages but doesnt mean they are totally safe
the imposters is randle – him being at pf role makes naz ried less effective and he isnt even a great spacer nor complements ant in offense
so he is still replaceable for a starter pg or multiple role players
donte divincenzo is a great 6th man but is still replaceable for a 3nd wing
and the rest of the guys are all replaceable , but i’d like them to keep jaylen clark
Randle doesnt work with Ant, Gobert, Naz and Jaden If we are being honest.
The only Player he does kinda work with is DDV.
Randle was,is and always will be a bad fit!
I think people undervalue Randle here and overrate Naz quite a bit. Ant and Jaden are the 2 to focus building around and hopefully Beringer becomes a suitable replacement for Gobert down the line. I think if you can upgrade the 1 or 4 by moving one of them they should.
The Wolves will do something big.
Randle doesn’t try and Naz is terrible. Finch has no buttons that he pan push and would have to try Rocco or Joan 10 minutes per game. Granting Minott’s wish and signing Jingles was one of the dumbest decisions they have made. Bones, Mike, Clark, Donte and Dilly are all undersized and need a Rudy like player to hide their liabilities.
A majority of people here thought Randle would be a placeholder after the KAT trade for good reason, a WCF appearance shouldn’t and didn’t change that in my opinion. I would be surprised if he’s on the roster by the start of next season.
Everyone but ANT is tradeable
It’s been mesmerizing this season how Randle and Naz are both very good players but are so toxic together. It becomes a Connelly problem for me. There’s nothing Finch can do to make it work. I can’t necessarily get mad at Randle nor Naz for an inability to protect the rim, because they shouldn’t be being asked to protect the rim in the first place.
Serious question – what team aspiring to a championship team WOULD Randle fit on ? I struggling thinking of a single one.
On the other side, what young growing team would want ball/rhythm-stopping Randle either ? At his best he gets a young team into a play-in situation, which is basically NBA purgatory
First fix the point guard problem. Then let’s see how everyone fits when everyone’s ball handling and offense-starting roles have been normalized to their positions of strength.
A couple tough losses and we say blow it up. Let’s get mentally tougher for an 82 game season.
Naz is bad. He’s one of the worst defenders in the league. When the shots fall he’s decent. When they don’t he’s literally useless. He’s massively overrated when it comes to winning basketball. Would love to see us move him. Awesome guy and easy to root for but that’s where it ends
Naz Reid has been doing this for five years and its literally like a the same video loop over and over and over. The coaches cant get him to correct this? Randle is and always has been a lazy a$$ on defense. No glossing over his lack of effort during game video review sessions. They have these, right?
Can a different set of coaches get more out of these guys? Beringer would at least bring effort and foot speed, but there is no way Finch will play him. If we bring in another big there would seem to be little need for both Reid and Randle on the team. Dont see anything changing, unfortunately. The layup line will remain open.
I hear a lot of comments about what we want Randle to be without factoring in his salary. Go through the lists of power forwards in his salary range, it’s tough to improve the position without hiking up the salary for the position.
If we don’t make a big time move, Randle needs to be with the 2nd unit. We have no scoring threat when the starters are sitting.
For all of those who are highlighting Randle’s poor fit with us: what teams would he work well on? Would any of those be logical trade partners for us?
Yep. I’d be very surprised if they’re both still on the roster after the trade deadline.
I fully expect that either Randle or Naz + salary filler (Dillingham) will be flipped for a starting PG with the remaining guy being the starting PF. Then, the team can flip salary filler (Bones, Miller, maybe Conley) + 2nds for a cheap backup C.
Pls trade randle get him away from this potential dumpster fire dudes didn’t him 2 begin with I don’t know why he didn’t resign elsewhere let them depend on naz Reid 2 get em their chip
