Could it be trade related?

  1. All the focus needs to be on trading Pettersson. There is no argument made to keep him at his current salary and effort level

  2. Not trying to drag DeBrusk, but I think trading him makes a ton of sense. Even if it’s just for something small/future considerations.

He’s got 1 goal in his last 16, doesn’t really bring much to the lineup when he isn’t scoring, and is signed until he’s 35.

I worry he’s going to be this era’s version of Loui Eriksson.

  3. If it is a trade, probably wouldn’t get much since he has a NMC but, atleast we’d clear up 5.5 Mil.

  4. Have we at any point this fucking season had a fully healthy roster ? Even for just one game ?

  5. I don’t mind Boeser but he’s not done much. I can’t stand debrusk and he does slightly more. Move him.

  6. For a speedy winger, he doesn’t really get by anyone. He’s had some break ways on the powerplay but besides that he’s not actually fast. We need some players who can handle the damn puck. The Canucks have a hard time getting by the 3F let alone the defense.

  7. Trading the vets. It’s time for a fire sale. I like DeBrusk and think a lot of teams would value his post-season play. It’s just not happening in Vancouver for the next few years.

  8. Gets Hoglander into a game, without scratching the bottom line players who have actually been scoring.

  9. DeBrusk has not been good, but Foote has continuously put him on the same line as Brock. They don’t pair well together and all the stats card shows that during this 40g sample, their combined output drops off 20-30% when on the same line.

Tank commander jokes aside, Foote is not fit to be an NHL head coach.

  10. Debrusk is a streaky $5m player. He gets gritty goals by being in the right position…but that isn’t great when no one is carrying the load.

  11. Foote has been heavily hinting some of the Vet wingers have some injuries so it could be as simple as the Canucks letting him heal for a game

  12. I’m thinking the players hate Foote. Please fire him he is the tank commander sure, but he will drive out the good guys we have left and completely fuck up the development of the young guns

  13. Oilers are clearing out cap space with Tomasek and Philp on waivers and someone mentioned it’s here or Edmonton for Debrusk due to I believe his girlfriend going to school there plus of course his Dad’s connections there.

  14. Debrusk? His contract is great. For 5.5 I don’t care if he’s streaky. Did he not lead the team in goals last season? Weird move.

Maybe they want him to ask for a trade? Not sure if he has a NMC. His past production, contract number and term length has to be worth something decent.

  15. Why do you have to add if it’s trade related in posting this.

Just go watch the original video. It’s a simple mental reset scratch. It’s either him or Hoglander.

  16. Boeser is worth keeping if he wants to be in VAN imo. If he wants out behind the scenes, let him out. The team needs some type of culture, and people who WANT to play in Vancouver are worth something right now. But if there is even a whiff of him wanting out, get rid of him.

DeBrusk should be moved. When he is not scoring, which is often, he has virtually no presence on the ice. EP40 can go scoreless for a while but still show up defensively more times than not. DeBrusk is a liability if he’s not scoring consistently.

Garland situation is similar to Boeser. If he wants to be in VAN, maybe keep him. If he seems disinterested, weigh your options. I support moving Garland a bit more than Boeser only due to the fact I think he nets a much better return than Boeser based on their play the past year or two.

  17. A lot of games he literally just skates around. I feel like I heard his name mentioned once in broadcast last night 😅
