I mean that’s basically what happened with Joe Judge after 2021. One day he was safe, the next day he was fired. Whether that was because none of the GM candidates wanted to work with him, public backlash, or even Tisch intervening we have no idea but Mara has shown in the past he’ll cave on shit like this. Hell, he fired McAdoo for benching Eli even though he gave McAdoo his blessing to bench Eli in the first place.
Giants might just name Lou Anarumo the next HC and wait until ownership is in a better spot next year for bigger changes.
Um, Mike Vrabel has done the same thing with the Pats this season.

Why do people assume that the rest of the league hates Joe Schoen? No one hates him more than Giants fans.
Hiring first time HC who was an OC. It can work for other teams, why can’t it work out for the Giants?

The Giants need to fire Schoen now, the new coach will not determine his job.

Yes, you have some legitimate foundational pieces here to build from. Yes, it’s still the Giants.
However, the team has been largely terrible for the last decade plus and coming to this team with a GM who may only have 1 season left if he’s kept is a very risky proposition.
If Schoen stays, you aren’t getting any of the promising coordinators and may not get any of the top end veteran coaches. You’ll get some dumb dick coach who will have us picking in the top 10 again.
Trent Baalke is arguably the worst GM of this century. He cost the Niners Harbaugh, then the Niners were in the tank because he can’t build a team. Took his talents to Jacksonville where he continued to be bad at building teams. Schoen is a much better GM (and he’s not that good)
Nobody wants to work for the worst run franchise of the NFL. Face it.

Anyone who believes in Dart should in fact believe in Joe Schoen as his scouting department is responsible for providing the data to make the choice. I know everyone wants to give Daboll credit, even though there was a trade involved to make the pick. Kinda picking and choosing when to hate Schoen, when Skattebo was hammering people as a 4th round pick where was the hate then? Brian Burns is one of the top pass rushers in the league and Schoen traded a 2nd round pick for him. He could easily get a 1st rounder and then some for him now.
I don’t think Schoen has as bad of a rep around the league than he does within our fanbase. Look at his last few years. There’s some bad decisions but there’s also some great ones. Just like any other GM. I don’t think Schoen will make or break any hires.
The Maras have to be kicked in the nuts repeatedly before admitting they made a mistake. I think we’re stuck with Schoen for another year, and we can only hope for a HC that work around his faults.
