I said this a few games ago, that if your best player was Nick Robertson, there’s an issue cause the big boys didn’t show up. No big boys tonight with the injuries but this guy was a DAWG tonight, not just the 2 points but he tracked down pucks, he played with tenacity and was impossible to take the puck from. Great game and well deserved.
That doesn’t look like a guy that wants to be traded

I like Robertson when he’s supported by Big Guys.. Complimentary assets on the ice, and Robertson DOES NOT STOP WORKING !!
One of the best players on the ice tonight but for me the reverse hit really solidified it. Bad ass!
It was like if we traded away a player who couldn’t climb the Leafs depth chart and he got more playing time on another club and looked really good and you’d be like, “Wow, why didn’t we keep this guy?!” except we got to see him do it *for* us.

I’ve been a doubter coming into this season but it was never about lack of effort. He’s improved his skating and looks more calm out there, he never stops working i gotta respect it.
Hear me out, what if we kept running this lineup until it stops working. I love seeing how our secondary guys rise to the occasion when “feed superstar puck” stops being the game plan. They play with so much more grit and determination, they actually blast pucks at the net and take chances they wouldn’t have otherwise.
He deserves it, but Knies deserves his first of the year too for the fight alone.
I thought this was a joke about Robertson being benched again after this game, and this unable to give the belt to someone, breaking the continuity.
He has consistently been a bright spot this month. Even in games we were totally blown out he played great.
Start giving him 15 mins a game.
I like that Auston was the one to announce/hand out the belt. Seems like vibes are up and he may begin to slowly be coming into his own as captain and as a leader of this team. Great effort from the team keep this going.
