Today I looked at top posts of all time in this sub, and 8 years later nothing has changed. Crazy to think McADooDoo had the highest win percentage in this stretch since Father Coughlin. How much longer until we burn our Giants gear?

And the cycle repeats, fire our coach, retain our GM, retain our coach, fire our GM, the beautiful dance continues
You never will. I have been a Yankee fan since the 1970 and we have had numerous 10 year droughts. I am still a loyal fan for Giants, Yankees and Knicks. I view it as lucky not being a Jets, Nets, or Mets fan.
You can burn your gear when turning in your fan card.

They know….
Here’s a couple things that doesn’t get talked about with Benny:
1.) as OC and HC he NEVER ran the ball, giants were consistently 31st and 32nd in the league. imo he’s one of the big reasons we drafted Saquon because we needed to prioritize running the ball for Eli.
2.) Had great hair
3.) He wanted to draft mahomes
4.) The 11-5 season was on the heels of MASSIVE free agency signings by Reese to make up for horrid draft classes.
5.) He was a terrible head coach
6.) pls fire Joe schoen
Ben Mcadoo’s Giants were quite literally the ONLY time since 2012 that I truly felt like we were a real Super Bowl contender. Even the 2022 Giants that made the playoffs, I knew deep down they weren’t real contenders.
With the 2nd pick of the NFL draft, the New York Giants select incompetence.
Never burning my gear. Never. Giants fan for life. Rolling with the punches.
Ben MacAdoo was solid as an OC. As a head coach, he was in over his head
At this point I’m still here for the comedy. Every time I think we can’t possibly screw up more we find the most idiotic, hilarious way to further cripple ourselves. We don’t roster a kicker, we keep one who can’t kick a fg for multiple games, we give Slayton $40m+, we run designed qb runs in unwinnable games, we have first round draft picks just not show up to practice, our GM somehow stays year after year despite being a 3 win team…. and that’s just this season and I didn’t even cover it all.
If we actually recapped all the stupid that happened this year, it’s impossible to come to the conclusion that Schoen is doing his job even remotely well and if he’s learning on the job, it’s clear that the job is way smarter than he is.
I don’t have Giants gear because I haven’t bought any in 12 years. There’s not much I can do to voice my discontent to ownership aside from not financially supporting the team, so I don’t
American sports fans are so fickle.
It depends on who the HC hire is and what happens this offseason starting next week.
But the only thing I have confidence in is that whatever the wrong decision is – we’ll make it.
McAdoo’s era really is really where the team was irreparably damaged, in my opinion.
I disagreed with firing Coughlin, but whatever. Coaches take the fall for bad records. But then hiring his offensive coordinator and keeping the GM and entire coaching staff was ridiculous.
McAdoo’s first season was a mirage because Reese mortgaged the future to save his job.
His second season showed who he was as a coach and I was happy to see him go, but the way he fired was terrible. He executed a plan that was within his rights as head coach and that Mara signed off on. Then Mara fired him because of fan reaction.
Then Mara gave this speech in the ensuing press conference about how the team wouldn’t tank despite the fact that he had essentially signed off on a plan to tank by saying McAdoo could pull Eli at the half of each game regardless of the score.
Every move from Coughlin’s firing and McAdoo’s hiring has made this franchise worse.
I knew firing Coughlin was a mistake in the moment but I could have never imagined this.
The bad times make the good times that much better
Had a chuckle at Father Coughlan
The Lions went 32 years between playoff wins. The Browns took 21 years to win their first after being reinstated in Cleveland.
Right now, the Giants look a lot like those two franchises, which means if you’re in your 60s right now, you may not live to see another New York playoff victory.
I was Reddit-shit on the other day for saying essentially the same thing.
I haven’t known any winning other than kinda remembering the SBs as a child so im very used to this
I shit you not I threw out my gear after the Broncos collapse!!
Never once a giants fan always for me. I’m 43 and been a fan since I was a kid. I’ve had some great moments. I will however not buy anything giants till they are a winning team. I will not support them financially until they put a good product on the field.
I can’t not be a fan, it’s in my DNA but I probably won’t buy the Sunday Ticket next year if they keep Schoen.
