Listened to Zach Lowe talk about this on his podcast this morning. One thing that people arent talking about is the small market utah and how they are losing patience with tanking seasons. Plus the league is looking at new ways to handle tanking. The Jazz are looking competitive now, and the pick they have is top 8 protected.
That means with being the 9th worst they have 80% chance of losing the pic, 7th worst pick they are 80% chance of landing a top 4 pick, and 8th worst team they have 30% chance of that top pick. I think Utah would love that pick but they are ready to play and see what happens. Plus Keyonte has become a bonified #2 option.

I agree that they won’t trade Lauri, but this season is the last season I expect them to be playing for the lottery. They have plenty of cap space and assets to set themselves up for a good offseason. Having a top 8 pick would make it that much better.
The only hope they really have is if they move Nurkic/Svi/Love. Nurkic isn’t a good defender but Utah is so much worse with Flip it isn’t funny.
