Not very.
Father Time is catching up with Kupp
Shaheed is a great gadget player and WR3 to stretch the field.
Horton seems solid, but unproven.
Bobo, Young, and White are low depth guys. Would love to see one of them have a breakout, but not looking likely at this point.
We should be looking to bolster this in FA or Rounds 2-4 of the draft.
Kupp is old reliable, Barner is only getting better, Horton is an exciting prospect and will be a great wr2 if he can stay healthy, confident Shaheed is gonna grow into his role and am optimistic about Young. Think we’re good for the future but wouldn’t be mad at a shot on a mid round draft prospect if someone they like falls again.
If we’re talking this year, I feel pretty decent. I would feel way better if Horton was healthy though.
Next year? We’re losing Kupp or Shaheed unless one of them takes a discount. I don’t see us paying Kupp as much as we are now AND paying Shaheed.
I think we have done a great job this season, but I feel like it would be ugly if jsn missed time. Wouldn’t hate it at all if we went with a receiver in the first round. (Would also happily settle for edge or cb)
On what timeframe – for Saturday, or for next year? This season it’s not looking good. Even if Horton comes back, he still needs time. Shaheed is not a #2, and that’s fine, he’s great at what he does. Without a #2 though, the passing game is struggling.
I can see next year being exciting with JSN, Horton, RS and a sprinkling of Kupp, but that also assumes that Horton and RS show some growth. I agree with other people that they should be looking to add another WR, but this draft is pretty thin.
If we had JSN, Shaheed, and Horton all healthy I wouldn’t be saying we have a good chance at winning a Super Bowl, I’d be closer to guaranteeing it. To me the offense began to drop off when Horton got hurt. He had just had a two TD game and was really beginning to fit in when he went out. He was the “second option” to make teams hurt if they went after JSN.
Horton’s biggest limitation is health. He got hurt last year in college which is why he dropped to the fifth round. And he’s been hurt again this year. The most important ability for any football player is availability and at this time his track record in that regard isn’t good. Hopefully it’s just a run of bad luck and not an indication of chronic issues.
I think Kupp still has some left in the tank, though he is definitely NOT the same player he was on the Rams. Am excellent blocker, but the big play ability seems to be all but gone. I would like to see Shaheed get more involved. Horton in limited action looked pretty damn good before he got hurt. AJ Barner… absolute stud. Looking like Trey McBride 2.0 out there. I wish Bobo would have a breakout year, and Cody White is still young and got hurt early. I do think we need to go after a good possession receiver in the draft or FA, but the priority absolutely needs to be IOL.
Good with Horton healthy, a little light without him. Should spend some sort of draft capital on a new one every year, not sure you can ever have too many.
Hopefully Horton can stay healthy next year. I think Horton and Arroyo both going down impacted the passing game a lot. I think JSN, Horton, and Shaheed is a very solid core with Bobo and Young as backups. Kupp…I like him, he’s a great blocker and veteran presence but his lack of separation and speed really limit his upside. Not sure if we really need him next year. Getting a cheaper, younger option in the draft would be great.
I know they are TEs, but Barner and Arroyo can both catch. Arroyo was brought in to be a pass catching TE but he’s proven to be a pretty decent blocker this year. He’s not a liability in the run game or anything. Barner was brought in to be a blocking TE but has proven to be an excellent receiver. We should hang on to Sauby too.
I think we’re looking good with our WRs and TEs overall.
Edit: spelling and also forgot about Cody White who I think is underrated and always makes great plays when targeted.
I wish Horton didn’t get hurt. Dude is very good and he’s clearly been missed I hope he bounces back but dude had injuries in his college career too and that’s part of the reason he dropped in the draft. I just don’t know if he can really be the guy of the future but I’m hopeful. I think Kupp is absurdly overpaid he’s the 3rd highest paid player on the Seahawks there’s no way he’s earned that.
I think they should stick to the draft for a WR let Kupp go this off-season and go get a veteran offensive guard instead put that money into the offensive line and make Sam more comfortable in the pocket.
Next year JSN/Barner plus Horton, Shaheed and Arroyo sounds good to me. We haven’t seen what the rookies can do because of injuries but it’s a talented and athletic group.
Exceedingly comfortable. Shaheed obviously made the pro bowl as a returner, both he and Horton are valuable assets. Behind them we have Bobo who has exceptional route running and hands, and Young who is an excellent all-arounder, and White who obviously is a threat to make big time plays at the highest level. Kupp is a possession guy that even a receiver as elite as JSN can learn from. He’s an invaluable leader in the locker room. When paired with K9 as a pass catcher out of the back field and Barner, it’s hard to ask for a better, more complete set of weapons for a QB.
It is by far our worst position group outside of JSN. We have no real WR2.
Love it. Kupp, Shaheed, Horton + TEs $$$
I would not be opposed to grabbing Diontae Johnson on a $1m contract right now for a playoff push.
Need to give shaheed more touches and send some deep balls his way. He’s had monster plays when he has gotten involved.
Jake bobo the goat
I’d be happy with a complete restock at wr built around JSN. The guys we have are great to root for, but I think it is the biggest area for improvement after right guard/center
Could improve but it’s the weakest link
It is something they will need to address in off season. Horton will be like Prosise.. full of potential, will show flashes, but his body won’t stand up to the nfl game.
Can not wait to see JSN coop Horton Rasheed all on the same play with Barner playing tight end. Yeah let’s see how teams over that.
Not very. Kupp is washed up. Good for a catch here or there but he’s not reliable. Bobo is a solid role player but not a real piece. They’ve struggled to get Shaheed involved. Horton is a question mark, some potential there for sure.
On the TE front Barner has developed into a good piece and that’s it. Arroyo is a question mark.
Overall I mark receiver as a position of need in the offseason.
Way more comfortable than I am with a dozen failed gadget plays every week
If next year we have a healthy Horton and fully integrated Shaheed and ask to join the coaching staff then I feel pretty good. That said, those are a lot of iffs and I would love to see us draft another young receive to help out.
Personally though I think the biggest issue right now is our lack of usage of K9 and the TEs in the passing game. K9 is an incredible dual threat RB and tends to be most special in space and YAC…. yet we so rarely use him as a receiver.
Tory Horton is good. Hope he comes back healthy next year. Doesn’t sound like he will make it back this year.
I like the thread, but do not mention the tight end who caught the 2-pointer. We need to keep him a secret in case we need him again.
I don’t know if Kupp is worth his cap hit, but I think he’ll have at least one more season with the team. I like Shaheed as a W3 & KR/PR. Horton flashed while healthy and could be a solid WR2 in the future. I think they probably add one more WR to the mix in the off-season.
At TE I like how Barner has developed and I think Arroyo is going to develop into a good TE eventually.
More Bobo
Its great Shaheed was a spectacular trade Kupp is home Horton looks good TEs look good Barner yess. Theyve done a great job so quickly
Idk man. I think JSN needs to go. He seems to not fit the scheme that well. Maybe Jake Bobo should get a chance
Nervous. Here’s why:
Kupp is clearly declining and won’t be a viable starting WR soon (possibly as soon as next season). He struggles to separate and that’ll only worsen over time.
Horton’s propensity to get injured in college has clearly followed him into the pros. As they say: the #1 ability is availability. Tough to imagine him suddenly becoming a durable player (but it *could* happen)
Shaheed looks like a legit #2, but he’s on the last year of his deal. Good chance he walks as the team has quite a bit of $ tied up in Kupp and will need to prioritize JSN extension post-2026 season.
Barner looks legit and is likely to continue growing / getting better. He’s a stud.
Arroyo is a bit of a mystery. Injury aside, him and Darnold just couldn’t seem to get on the same page for most of this season. I’m sure coaching can fix that in 2026-onward.
And then there’s just a bunch of JAGS in the background.
In my mind, Seattle absolutely needs to prioritize retaining Shaheed (as he’s als got tremendous special teams value) and drafting a WR in rounds 2 or 3 this April to continue adding talent to the WR room.
