I’ve got mixed feelings about this.
> Sources say that Golden State, which helped inspire this whole notebook, has indeed had some internal discussions about whether to pursue Porter.
So we’re maybe thinking about pursing him.
Edit: goddamn why am I getting downvoted for quoting the article
Please get him hes a legit scorer in a good system
Yes please. We should’ve kidnapped him in Brooklyn earlier this week (*last year*) but I’ll take getting him the legit way.

Contractually, JK, Buddy, and Moody add up to his contract.
He makes 38m, would need to be kuminga + hield + moody for porter + 4-5mil salary. Drastically changes the depth, but might only need to throw in a pick. Not sure if I like it though
TMIII would take a significantly friendlier package that would leave assets for a 2nd addition.
I would love to get MPJ. He would bring so much to the offense
But will MPJ be a player that’ll move the needle for us? When Jimmy joined us last years’ deadline, we went from one of the few worst/mediocre teams in the NBA to one of the best few teams in the NBA. We had a long stretch of wins due to Jimmy’s presence and what he offered to us. Got us to the second round of the playoffs but unfortunately injuries killed it for us against the Wolves.
Those are the type of players that moves the needle for a team. MPJ will add a load of scoring for us but that’s if he can do it consistently. Even then, does that make us have a deep run in the playoffs? Can’t just solely rely on MPJ to do lots of scoring when Steph’s off the floor
He’d be a good fit
Feel better about this than going for AD. The offense would be cracked with a guy that can actually take advantage of the quality looks that are created

Yes please get klay back and your building my favorite players roster
There’s a reason why Denver traded him

He’s exactly what they need
JK, Buddy, Moody and a protected first rounder?
MPJ would be a huge addition! He’s basically a near prime shooting Klay!
Warriors need one of MPJ, AD, or Giannis to have a shot. Since Giannis isn’t happening, one of the other two trades is the best bet. Gotta believe any other team is gonna go hard after “post-Steph” picks.
Regardless of the defense, it would be useful to have an irrational confidence scorer (like Poole was) that can go get his own shot and produce
this is the trade
MPJ is legit. A reminder that he was playing with one shoulder and still was good defensively last playoffs. He offers shooting and size, something Warriors lack.
I believe mpj got traded by nuggets because of salary. They want to add depth to bench and pay Braun while staying under salary cap. He did have some terrible shooting games in playoff but it’s due to his back injury. Overall, there is nothing in game suggested he isn’t a championship level player.
Bonus. He always cooks the lakers.
The ideal trade for me would be TM and Zubac. Second ideal would be mpj and maybe a cheap center
idc if he sucks on defense. MPJ being 6’10 inherently makes him a better defender than most players on this dookie roster
He’d be an incredible fit offensively there’s no denying that. I’m a bit worried about the fit defensively, can he guard the wing at a high level?
I’m assuming Steph Jimmy MPJ Dray Post would be the starting lineup. Dont really want MPJ guarding 4s. But do we want Jimmy having to matchup with quick guards? Melton could slide in for Post depending on the matchup to provide POA defense, but that means more Dray at the 5..
I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. Injury history is super concerning and I’m also not sure if he’s a good character / culture fit. He’s kind of a moron douchebag.
Would much rather take a chance on MPJ than AD
Getting him means we don’t get a center
MPJ has size, can rebound and score, all things this Warriors team desperately needs. His contract is also very manageable.
