I’m literally the first person to question Luka’s performances, and not only defensively, especially when I feel it can lead to an interesting discussion. But come on, there’s absolutely no need to bring the exact same generic analysis up eight hundred times in a row on this sub. It’s obvious this team has problems that go far beyond Luka.

It’s clear there’s a deep flaw in how this roster was constructed, everybody knows it. That’s the main limitation that keeps us from being contenders this year. But these consecutive blowout losses are a clear sign of a team with no clear system, no ability to adjust, and no capacity to maximize its talent tactically. Instead of taking out the frustration of watching this mediocre team on a single player, hold accountable the people who are actually responsible for how the team plays collectively. Basketball is played five-on-five.

    I was on the Mavs sub for years and it was nowhere near this toxic, kind of makes me miss it.

  3. Yes the roster has flaws. The defense is bad. The athleticism issues are real.

    The bottom line is the team has been losing games against the top teams in the league while missing 2-3 starters each game. Our best player has clearly been banged up and not at his best, even missing some time himself in that stretch.

    Losing sucks. But all of the “every single role player on this team is a G-leaguer, all of our wins are fake, we should be in the lottery, Luka is a fraud we should trade him blow it up and tank” takes are NPCs with either the memory of a goldfish or who have never actually followed a team through a whole NBA season before.

  4. I don’t know man. It’s not just you but the “let’s just calm down, be nice, and accept that my guys is perfect and everyone around him is dogshit” just seems a little hollow. It’s not just Luka, the LeBron stans are just as bad.

    Right now every single person in the organization from the top down needs to be better. (Was it the ball boys Giannis mentioned too, lol.) No one is except from criticism. In Luka’s case the criticism goes double because unlike almost everyone else he isn’t replaceable.

  5. It’s just amazing hearing the media and fan blitz on Luka when everyone is missing the key point: Lebron can’t play with Luka and that’s the primary issue.

    Ex-Mavs fans should not be telling us how to behave in our team sub, or tell us we can’t talk about Luka if we want to. Go be proud of your “Finals Appearance” as the crown jewel of Luka’s accomplishments over on the Mavs sub.

    In the 17 Time Champion Lakers sub, we consider that a failure.

    Honestly i would talk to LeBron (i’m a huge fan of his) and see if they could work something out where he can go play meaningful basketball if this is what we’re gonna get the rest of the season

Luka has issues, offensively mainly the fact his rim frequency is way down, hopefully that is just a personal choice and not he can’t blow by guys anymore and has to settle for jumpers, defensively he will never be a good perimeter defender, you need a really good shot blocker back there and then ideally another POA defender so Luka isn’t in those situations in the first place

  15. Luka played bad this december with the defense and turnovers. But if you look deeper into it, the TEAM is the problem, when AR went down, this is where it all started, luka and ar generated mostly the offense, when one is missing, even the effin team cant help luka nor ar. It’s really hard to rely on bron when is he is already 41 yrs old, we cant expect him to carry this team all the time

    But this sub is ssoooooo toxic. Lakers are blessed to have luka, it may be super bad this season, but they still have 5-10 years with him. Fans are toxic as afff unlike the mavs.

    Be grateful that nba rigged the trade for you (DOWNVOTE me all you want cuz that’s the truth)

  17. Problem is all our roster outside of luka got the Hollywood disease. They care more about their looks and clothes rather than their nba performance. Meanwhile you have ugly as mfs like the pistons players who look chopped and mean af bullying our pretty boys.

  29. Has it even been a full calendar year since the trade? How fast did y’all really think they could pivot a franchise from LeBron/AD win now to Luka Doncic preparing for the future? It’s gonna take some time.

  31. People keep talking about roster construction, but this team played much better defense with mostly the same players last year. The roster has issues, but they aren’t enough to make the defense as bad as it is.
