The problem is that the only way to get a true number 1/2 defensemen of the future is to trade Eklund. Just go through the draft, develop more forward prospects, and stay steady this year. The Sharks are way ahead of schedule so dont try and force anything.
We don't need a star defender. Just a solid one that won't give up huge plays. We've got plenty of offensive firepower, and we have some offensive potential with Dickinson and Cagnoni. So we would be fine just finding a really great, responsible defender when can make smart passes and have the speed to get back on defense.

Nah trade older players get rid of Mario Ferraro get atleast 2nd or 3rd round. Sharks are 31st in defense that would be a waste of players or a pick.
