Tatsuya Imai SIGNS With The Astros! Why Houston & Not The Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Giants or Others?

Tatsuya Imai has signed with the Astros – here is why the deal makes sense for both the player and the team & why other teams didn’t.

  1. Good for him, hopefully he can back up that claim after saying the fans in Chicago treated him like a god n now he's goin somewhere that doesn't view him the same way

  2. As a Giants fan, I want to absolutely throw up! I feel sick to my stomach. This happens every damn year. Sick of this bullshit

  3. If it ends up being a 1-year deal it will be for $21M and not $18M. Imai gets a $3M bonus if he pitches 100 innings. If Imai opts out it's almost a guarantee he pitches at least 100 innings. Not many starters would opt out of that contract and expect to be paid more if they couldn't even pitch 100 innings.

  4. To those that are suprised or shocked should note that with Houston renaming their park to an overseas company were sure to get a named player from overseas. It had to happen.

  5. I am a Blue Jays fan, and they do not need him (they already have 6 or 7 viable starters) so as long as he stays out of the AL East I am happy,. l I believe that Imail will be a solid # 2 eventually.

  6. This is great news for the Dodgers. It was the Blue Jays or Phillies that the Dodgers didn’t want him going to. The Astros haven’t been that good for a few years now.

  7. By his signing with an AL team taking down the Dodgers can't be a priority for him as he will pitch a maximum of one game against the Dodgers each season unless the teams meet in the World Series.

  8. Astros fan, bye Framber and your fragile ego. Atleast this guy will not throw pitches at his catcher. Good look to the team who ends up with sloppy seconds with Framber!

  9. I don't think he dislikes or wouldn't like to join the Dodgers. They simply don't want him and as far as signing with the Astros I honestly think the contract was favorable for him. I hope he does well!

  10. The Astros has a better team ERA than Seattle last year. And they had a ton of injuries to pitchers. They will be even better in 2026 so I don’t get why act like the Astros don’t develop pitchers

  11. He wanted to take down the dodgers….but goes to the Astros? This doesn’t “troll the Dodgers” I’m pretty sure the players don’t care. He trolled Dodgers fans I guess, but he certainly won’t be really “taking down the Dodgers” if he really wanted to do that he should’ve joined the Giants or Padres. So either they didn’t want him at all or he really wanted nothing with directly facing the Dodgers.
