[Ari Alexander] A little more specifically what I was told regarding Astros and Asia:

  1. I really enjoyed Kikuchi when he was here. I always wondered why the Astros didn’t have more Asian prospects or scouting. There is too much talent there not to have scouts.

  2. I fully expect an anime incoming of a Japanese player making it to the big leagues featuring the Astros. Get ready for anime Altuve in motion (I think he was actually in an anime previously as a still shot).

Kono bangumi wa goran no suponsaa no teikyou de okurishimasu!

    *Daikin.*

  3. Ari moves to Boston, and is still posting Astros content/news. Kudos to him. I think he’s trying to be the Adam Schefter of baseball.

  4. I don’t know why Daikin keeps getting brought up. They’re a named sponsor, that’s it. Yes theirs is the most visible but we’ve also got Oxy and Chick Fil A, etc. It’s not like when Minute Maid was the sponsor we assumed there would be an influx of Florida players.

  5. If we made a roster decision based on business synergy I’m going to be pissed off but hope this guy pitches well.

  6. I hope that good Japanese baseball stars playing for the Astros will attract a lot of sponsors from Asian countries, as happened with Ohtani and Yamamoto. Sponsorships alone can cover a large part of the contract.

  7. I like the idea of a Japanese player doing local commercials in Japan for Daikin as stiffly as Biggio or Kyler Tucker.
