Are the Mets Happy with Their CURRENT Rotation As Is? | Free Agent Options Continue to Dwindle

New York Mets face a pivotal offseason as their rotation remains untouched—will waiting pay off, or is disaster looming?

The team’s reluctance to pursue top starters like Tatsuya Imai, Framber Valdez, and Ranger Suarez raises key questions for 2026.

With Kodai Senga, David Peterson, and rookie Nolan McLean headlining the depth chart, uncertainty surrounds the Mets’ ability to compete with division rivals like the Braves and Phillies.

Ryan Finkelstein dissects the club’s strategy, exploring the pros and cons of standing pat versus making a blockbuster trade for names such as Freddy Peralta.

Topics include the Mets’ farm system reliance, the escalating trade market for starting pitching, and how inaction might force the front office to double down on outfield upgrades.

Are the Mets sacrificing proven arms for prospect upside, or simply biding time for the right move?

Mets fans won’t want to miss this candid breakdown of the team’s most pressing roster dilemma.

  1. Mets GOT to keep their Young Studs! Bring them back early to Citi Field! They deserve a 2nd chance! Bring them Home & mix them with the Current squad !! None of these high priced Millionaires have the Citi Field experience than our Rookies do! That’s quite an advantage over any of them! True & Trust, that’s a winning combination! Got to Believe! LETS GO METS ! ! !

  2. Thanks for providing more context about the market as a whole and how we are not the only fan base that is “frustrated” (to say the least). Focusing on the bigger picture rather than just chasing clicks is why your show is so great!

  3. You seriously explained a guys contract 3 times in the first 5 mins and he's not even on our team wtf worst mets ch on youtube time to unsubscribe not doing another year if his garbage

  4. I'll never argue with the restraint approach. The Mets have some promising prospects in the hopper. Also Skubal is a free agent next year. Why go all in trading for a borderline veteran? The Mets should concentrate on shoring up their position players and improving the defense. Always be thinking long term. We're looking to build a dynasty here.

  5. I agree with you. If the Mets stand par and don't get any starting pitching or another big bat, I will be very disappointed. We will see…

  6. The Mets are returning to the Wilpon era. Playing like a small market team, which is in their DNA. Steve Cohen and his protege David Stearns will learn quickly when the fans do not show up to the ballpark. Totally unacceptable!

  7. I guess we should have realized from the beginning. Steve Cohen didn’t get to be a billionaire by spending his money foolishly. And if it takes stupid spending to win, then we’re not going to win for a while.

  8. I'm already finding it hard to want to watch this team ! Apart of me wants them to fall flat on their face if they run it back ! If Stearns fails again, he has to be fired next off-season
