Some tidbits on the Browns as well as McDaniel, etc.

Essentially what we’ve been hearing, Berry more likely safe than Stefanski but not yet decided, will meet after the season finale. It does mention that there was discussion of moving Berry into a higher level role but that they aren’t planning on it as of now.

  1. I think the wildest thing about this article is the suggestion that Tomlin would want to take a break from coaching and would fill that time by going on TV?

  2. It’s not like anyone thinks Kev is perfect, but he has shown that he’s better than this *”Crop”* of perspective Head Coaches.

These lists are an instant NON-Starter!

  3. Nobody knows anything about our front office, the one thing they are good at is containing leaks. It may be correct but I doubt it’s all that confirmed. I would be shocked if they haven’t actually made a decision yet. They would be letting him go by Monday to start their official search, so it would have to be pretty complete already.

  4. “Moving Berry into a higher level role” lol just like how the Broncos promoted John Elway out of building the roster and managing the draft and immediately became good

  5. I am fine either way, but it makes sense to stick with the regime for another year. They have been stable, and I think that shows up in the rookie performances. They aren’t getting a QB in the draft, which would be prime time for a reset. It’s hard to imagine the job being attractive due to the Watson situation, but that will change in a year or two which may correspond with a shot at a QB.

Very hard to imagine a strong candidate being attracted by Shedeur.

  6. There’s no superstar head coach candidates, and even if there were why would they come here? We have a million offensive holes, cap is still bad due to Watson, we’d just get some lame duck tank commander for another year like the Texans did with david culley. Were the ugly girl at prom this year, no one who isn’t desperate will want to go home with us

Let him stay another year, especially if we’re keeping berry. Worst case, he’s washed and we’re at least a (hopefully) more attractive destination. Best case, it was a talent issue and we look much better next year.

  7. People will get what they want with Stefanski gone.

What they won’t get is an upgrade at coach to replace him.

Just remember who is hiring the replacement.

  8. Such a bummer we had a top candidate like Vrabel on our staff and didn’t have him move into HC

  9. If Stefanski gets fired the next coach better get an ironclad 5 year “no termination” clause because next season is going to be dreadful and possibly the season after that if we’re still digging out from the Watson contract

This defense is solid but defense can fluctuate and this offense is expansion team level bad
