Some fans “even” want him to come back, Will Eudy? Ya think? Was this article written from outer space? I’m sure many fans would rather we be a lottery team two years in a row than to go to the conference finals and NBA finals in 2 out of 3 years. Jesus. The revisionist history.

  1. Why did you put “even” in quotes? Seems like it’d be more relevant for the word following it: “wants.”

  2. Can both things be true? The Mavs did have great success with Luka and went to the Conf Finals & Finals.

But it’s also revisionist history to pretend like he wasn’t a negative on defense and didn’t have issues with the refs. He often spent time complaining to them instead of getting back of defense and it drove people nuts.

  3. Can’t count how many times I yelled at,,, err,,, disappointedly pleaded with Luka through the tv to quit bitching and get back.

Even so, he’s one of the most entertaining athletes I’ve ever seen.

  4. I love Luka with zero reservations, warts and all. He’s always been a flawed player but he was ours and Laker fans never have and never will fucking deserve him. But you really do have to ask why he can’t, or won’t, change the things people criticize about him. Is it just built into his personality at this point? I hate the way people are crucifying him but no one can objectively say it’s not warranted. Still really hoping he irons those out.

  5. He’s right. Luka is terrible. Dallas should do the Lakers a favor and take him back.

  6. “Moments”? I guess the entire game and season is now deemed as “moments”.

  7. Let’s look at Luka’s play this year:

    Ranked #1 in usage %

Ranks #2 in 3 pointers attempted but is shooting an appalling 32%

    Leads the league in turnovers

Ranks #268 in eFG %, taking out the impact of free throws

Leads the league in free throws attempted – 18 of his points yesterday were free throws!!

While still playing no defense, complaining to refs, no conditioning, not driving, and foul baiting

  8. Unfortunately, he learned this from watching Lebron growing up. Most of that time after Lebron stopped playing defense. Even at one point calling Lebron his favorite player. So having two stars that don’t play defense is rough for Lakers fans.
