Okamoto to the blue jays.

  1. Well that’s an interesting landing spot. I wonder where he plays. Fuck man the Blue Jays are so aggressive. I don’t want Okamoto just wish the Mets were more proactive.

  2. I knew the Mets were interested but I’m still kind of disappointed anyways. Happy for the Jays though

  3. I think we have such a log jam of infielders rn that it may have been a stretch for us to get him. Plus the Jays haven’t resigned Bichette yet so I wonder if he’s still a part of their future plans

  4. Never in play for the Mets. We’re good on the infield. Save the money for an OF. (If we do.)

  5. This should signal to us that Bichette might be undesirable. Blue Jays are feasting for free agents yet likely now won’t resign a franchise player, probably suggests his injury history could spell disaster

  6. I really wanted the Mets to sign this guy so he could take Pete’s spot. I don’t like the idea of Polanco playing a position he played one inning at. I get that 1st base is the easiest infield position, and he should be able to handle it, but why risk it? Also, who’s playing first if Polanco (who will be 33 in July) get’s injured?

  7. David Stearns: “run prevention”

Also David Stearns: “hey let’s sign a guy who has never played 1B to play the position”

  8. Stearns must think Clifford is very close to the majors. We basically don’t have a back up plan if polanco sucks at 1st base.

  9. Pretty obvious we’re punting this season.

Feel bad for people who renewed their season tickets (maybe that’s why they were pushing so hard for it this year).

  10. Are we about to have another meltdown about a guy who most of this sub never heard of before this offseason?

  11. Like it or not we already have Polanco at first base, so I really don’t think we were in on Okamoto. I just hope we can swing a trade for a legitimate bat considering we have a logjam of infield prospects that we should look to get value for

  12. might as well just get the belli and tucker new over soon, we arent signing them either.

  13. Please stop whining. Even if Okamoto was signed people would be gripping.

He isn’t a great fit here. The boom/ bust potential is far too high with the bat, and the defense has an incredibly low floor.

The dude is Mark Vientos with extra steps and an international flavor.

  14. They are in re-build mode for 2026, I just hope some of the young guys are fun to watch at least

  15. I realize & understand how we are going to play our top-tier prospects like Clifford but it fucking stinks how we clearly checked out of the offseason, NGL

  16. It’s gonna be Polanco at 1st, Eugenio Suarez at DH, and Cody Bellinger in left field
