  1. Utterly pathetic effort tonight. Pens were never in trouble at any point in that game. 4 out of the last 5 games the Wings have looked awful. 5 on 5 this team is still trash. Gibson was solid although I think he over commits on the first Pens goal. But he was the only one that showed up. Larkin was woeful and tried making some ridiculous passes. Easily one of the worst games I've ever seen the Wings play.

  2. Ya want stop the redwings they never leave the boards the games plan board battles if you win one throw it behind the net into another one…….center of ic is hot lava why PP work cuz they use Center of ice hot lava

  3. Every time the Wings got the puck , the ice surface tilted and they were skating uphill. At least it seemed that way.
Dull and unimaginative hockey, bad passing and chasing to the corners only to give the puck away.
    Poorest effort all season.

  4. Zero legs. That's it, that's all. We played back-to-back; pens didn't. Everyone was awful today. Finnie with the giveaway, Seider with the bad change, and everyone not skating. Better come out flying against Ottawa with this break.

  5. What apathetic performance. Pittsburgh owned them. They might be in a playoff spot, but playing like THAT they don’t deserve playoffs. Horrible and unwatchable on National TV. Too many games like this.

  6. Pathetic! Just like the first time we played against the Penguins! We wanted revenge! You failed to make it happen. Smarten up, you idiots!

  7. So, is it a coincidence that the team has gone to crap after they sent Leonard down and screwed up the lines? Kane can't keep up with the play anymore. What a contrast between Crosby and the best the Wings have to offer.

  8. They played “south to south” today, they kept dumping it in the neutral zone, and it came right back into our zone. This loss as nothing to do with Gibson.

Outshot again by a 31-12 margin AT HOME. Red Wings are smoke & mirrors. They get outplayed even in games they win. Reality seems to be setting in. Get ready for more losses I'm afraid. Red Wings need a real star forward. Not a Larkin, Kat or Raymond who are good players….a genuine superstar. I know, easier said than done.

Yzerman has been failing for how many years is it now? He still hasn't put together a team which can carry the majority of play in most games and NOT rank at or near the bottom in penalty killing every year. It's gotten old.

  10. Messier in the studio happened to say what should be apparent to everyone, "the redwings needs a first line center" (…to get into the playoffs). He said it before the third period.
Larkin is a decent second or third line center. Problem is he makes to many unforced errors, gets behind the play, can't make a pass on the tape and does mostly throw in area passes, he doesn't battle very hard around the net and avoid checking at times. He's been on the team for nine? seasons and never in a playoff he's stoked in loosing. He seems to be a very nice guy but he ain't a top line center in a playoff team.
Yzerman better do a massive trade to get this team to the next level.

  11. Same shit different year. Until DET has a new GM and a new captain nothing will change. Larkin is a good player, but his leadership and captain-hood will never be solidified if games and stretches like this happen…

  12. I know there is a contract/gm strategy behing it…but to be honest…sending down the best scorer in the ahl has been criminal…he could contribute way more than a few players….Yzerman should stop playing safe and give us the best posible line up…also trailmark should have a shot

  13. The Griffins would have beaten the wings badly the last two games. Nobody showed up. A trade for anyone would help but that won't happen. I said at the beginning of the year we needed help defensively. That hasn't changed.
