2. I’m really starting to get tired of this team and all the bullshit nonsense. Spending millions of dollars this kind of incompetence is not acceptable. Yet there are all manner of people coming to their defense, making excuses. Excuses are long over. Not only is this not a cup contending team, it doesn’t even look like a professional hockey team. Let’s keep doing the same shit and hoping for a different result, makes a lot of sense. Sounds like the rest of Canada at this point so I’m not surprised.

   It's time people realize that Knoblauch isn't some fairy tale coach who came up from the minors, and found amazing form in the NHL, out of the ordinary.

   His success rate, is quite easy to determine, and I think that success rate, is getting a bit tired of him, and it's showing on the ice.

9. No one did anything but McDavid. I guess Nurse stepped up and admitted he wasn’t doing a whole lot. But my god this game was awful I wouldn’t even blame Knobs this time. This was 100% the players like they went almost the entire third period or second I can’t remember without a shot on net. YOU CANT WIN IF YOU DONT SHOOT. Just a pathetic performance.

12. 2024-25 was a step back year. Summer 2025 to me it was obvious 2025-26 would be a step back year and looking ahead to 2026-27 looks like yet another step back year. So Oiler fans. Are you in on a rebuild? Nurse contract, Frederic contract, Mangiapane contact, goal tending, need top 6 forwards, need bottom 6 forwards, need D support. The best thing is if the Oilers rebuild now. Brown and Perry saw the writing on the wall in the summer.

The damage was there with 4 Holland contracts (Nurse + Campbell (still haunting) he was told to but did not sign Holloway and Broberg, poor in all 5 drafts with 0 result) + Jackson's 4 poor contracts (Skinner, Arvidsson, Janmark, Henrique). Bowman is bad on Frederick + Maniapangne (but will be corrected and traded soon), he refills the prospect cupboard, drafted good prospects in late rounds. Also got pods, Rosie, Statneys, Ingram, Jarry, Walman, Regula, Emberson. He is best among most GMs.

17. I don't think it's so much on Knob, you can only polish a turd so much but at the end of the day it's still a turd. The team is just waaaaaay to top heavy…that's not on Knob that's on management. Our bottom 6 is completely invisible, our defence is trash. The team is just built wrong and we all know it. Bowman should be fired before knob IMO. Which coach do you see bringing this team to the finals? I don't see any of them being able to turn this franchise around. But hey at least skinner is gone right? Look at how great Jarry is working out for us…oh right he's only played 2.5 games with us and what 16 games in total? Now we have to rely on Ingram and Picard to get us through Jarry's injury.

20. As Brett hull said in an interview, hockey players today are great athletes but many of them have no hockey IQ. Perfectly describes Nurse and Bouchard. In addition, why is McDavid passing so much, on 2 on 1’s etc… just shoot the damn puck.

21. Someone tell the coach that he is coaching a men’s hockey team, not overlooking an accounting department. It IS OKAY to show emotion on the bench, if someone does a boneheaded play, yell, get mad do something. Show some freaking emotion on the bench. Damn.

22. Drai has sucked life out of this team with his lack of effort in both ends. He has been horrible and without his line contributing we are in deep trouble. Knoblach needs to go for sure he has no idea how to motivate this team

Louie/Jack work for the Oilers for sure – and I said the exact same things game time – on the second goal I said "Nurse should get an assist he sent a perfect saucer pass to Sanheim when he had all kinds of area to dump the puck to" but as usual DUHnel Nurse just panics and plays hot potato with the puck. And then the fight – again exactly what I said – WTF are you doing DUHnel dropping the gloves when your team has an odd man rush!!!! Luckily it didn't cost them as a post was hit and puck went out of play anyway but if that puck had gone in….. just wow. Duhnel Nurse needs to go – Chicago was able to trade Seth Jones, and he was playing as poorlyin Chicago as Nurse is here – so why can teams trade horrible contracts without having to absorb an even worse one (Lucic for Neal PLUS a draft pick from us to them wtf) and we just can't? We can't even trade Mangiapane for crissakes and it's not like he's got a massive, long term deal. And I guarantee you when the trade does happen, draft picks will be involved (as in our picks going the other way), a contract just as bad as Mangiapane's will be coming back AND the guy we get will make Mangiapane look like an all-star here – or we'll trade for a guy who's already hurt and he'll aggravate his injury (Jarry / Frederick) and we'll be out a player, a draft pick or two, and a player healthy enough to play but unhealthy enough to contribute anything but MINUSES in the stat column.

27. My take, and I don’t know how it happened, they lost the winning culture in the room. Maybe a particular loss of personal did it, player or coach, who knows; but I gotta think that locker room is just not the same coming in this season, mentally.

28. Without 97 and 29, this team would be a bottom team worse than the Canucks. Need better defensive play and defensive coaching.

29. This is not a complete team. No defense, no grit, inconsistent goaltending, can't score. You're right. it's an easy team to play against.

30. it has been apparent Knob does not discipline or hold players accountable to standards; esp regarding position… & is very boring… & its all carrying fwd to the whole team…. Odd that mgt just committed to 3 more yrs…. And mgt has bungled the contracts badly…. shipping productive guys out.. Frederics $32m in spite of an obvious problem last yr… Nurse/Bouch $20m/yr are a problem… Mangia $3.6m for 2yrs.. Emberson/Regula are not at nhL level.. Lot of issues !!
