1. The only two leafs games I’ve been to have been the JT 1000th point game and this one. I’ve gotten to see history but both have been OT losses.

As for Matthews' breaking the record for most goals by a Leaf, when I heared that, as the Leafs were playing the Islanders, I wondered how many goals Islanders great had in his career. So Matthews has 421 goals.Bossy had 573. The Toronto accomplishment just doesn't seem that huge, does it? And of course, the greatest accomplishment is Mike Bossy won four Stanley Cups. Matthews has won zero. That's the biggest comparison. Have you ever noticed how the Canadian sports media focuses on individual stats instead of Stanley Cup championships?

9. For all the talk about Steve being a guy who screams about losses, it’s still so cool that his fandom wins out. Focusing on the AM record over the disappointment of the game and standings is really good stuff. It’s really a great example of a fan vs any-old talking head.

14. Rielly used to be my favourite player. But he is looking washed up and completely unreliable on the back end.

Born and raised Torontonian, massive sports nerd, turn 51 this year – and when I was 21, I said "f@ck the Leafs!" and replaced them with my second favorite team (The Mighty Islanders) and haven't regretted it since! My father said a year before the switch that "the Maple Lozer's won't win a cup for a 100 years", and so far he hasn't been wrong. Since my switch, I've seen the Maple Lozers in about as many playoff games as the Islanders, only the Island has had lots more playoff success – the Maple Lozers have no window, have no future, never have! There is no hope in Maple Lozer land – Matthews is a heartless kitten, and Tavs is a heartless lozer who has never won a thing! Tavs leaves the Island and the Island go to back2back final 4's, one goal in OT away from the Stanley Cup finals – Leafs over celebrate two first round wins in 8 years trying. Now the Mighty Island has new management (former TB Lightning exec), and the next best defenceman since Potvin, Housley, and Orr. Matthews is a poor man's Brett Hull! Good luck with your dump and chase boring-ass lacking heart, overpaid players, hockey team.

19. Schaeffer, in my opinion, could be the next Paul Coffee, need I dare say, Bobby Orr? I just hope that the Islanders and Roy don't screw this kid up. If they keep protecting him like they have, he'll be the next superstar. The way the players stick up for him if he is even touch by an opponent, is what the Leafs are lacking.

20. It's unbelievable how that kid scored the goal almost to what Auston did, the kid absolutely stunned us last night, I don't even know what to say, Mo you have to step it up big guy, you have to, our season isn't over yet, get yourself together, -4, that's absolutely terrible, step, it, up!
