Blues and my thoughts on Team Canada

Tonight you broke down the Canadiens’ 2–0 loss to the St. Louis Blues in St. Louis. Blues goalie Jordan Binnington earned a 25-save shutout, stifling Montreal’s attack and snapping the Habs’ 7-game point streak. Jonatan Berggren scored the game’s first goal, and Robert Thomas added a short-handed tally as Montreal struggled to convert opportunities despite possession and offensive zone time. Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki acknowledged the team’s lack of execution in key moments.

You also pivoted to Team Canada news, spotlighting Nick Suzuki being named to Canada’s 2026 Olympic hockey roster for Milano Cortina — marking his first Olympic team and a major honour for the Habs captain. Suzuki will join an elite 25-man Canada squad that includes stars like Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, Bo Horvat, and Macklin Celebrini.

  1. This video is kind of a two-fer – I wanted to highlight the game but also talk about my thoughts on the Olympic Men's teams, at least touch on the subject.

Let me know what you think! Take care guys and girls.

  2. It's the 2nd time we've been shutout this year. Remember the 1st one? I really hope the boys remember. It was that brutal 7-0 loss to Dallas

  3. Blues looked super put together and played Hurricanes hockey better than the Hurricanes did the other day. But the fact last night was Caufield's birthday makes it all make a lot more sense.

  4. I liked this 3rd line . Putting the two old guys together gave a spark. Also bottom six showing strength in the last two games .and we did get goalied ! But what do u think about the power play?

  5. I am just throwing it out there…Sebastion Aho. I have been thinking that kid IS worth thinking about.

Been watching him for 2 years and that kid has not learned to be okay with losing. Cap space should be there. He has to take a pay cut within reason. I don't want Kent to pull a Dubios or a NYR forever try and BUY a team.

We have 24 cups because it's chemistry. Aho is that guy, but he's not the Captain. He would fit with Slav, and certainly with Demi and Lane.

He or that kind if guy us what we need.

  6. Habs looked overconfident. Demigod needs to figure out why he’s breaking so many sticks. Passing wasn’t crisp. Gallagher had a ton of shots, but he can’t score. Not a good game for the team.

  7. Habs played with a "lack of urgency" and were doing many of the mistakes they have done the past couple seasons on offensive and defense. One of the reasons the Habs powerplay does poorty – failure to screen the goalie properly which is where Slaf should be. Whenever Slaf is not in the opposing goalie's face, the Habs powerplay tends to fall flat and usually too predictable and too many cute passes (and very little shooting).

  8. I knew it! AHHHH! The Blues play the perfect game, Binnington turns into a wall… I really hope they turn it around for Dallas. I don't want to see another blow out. I'm of the opinion that I want Canada to win at the Olympics, but I'd prefer if Montreal players weren't there. NHL is more important to me.

  9. Binnington was phenomenal.
I still like Fowler – he seems to be the Habs' most stable goalie.
Doby comes across as the shaky one, atm.
Not a bad game all in all, could have gone either way with a bit of puck luck.
Opposition did not have much in the 3d period.
Kinda hunkering behind the battlements in anticipation of tonight – a real test of mettle…

  10. Was really looking forward to seeing the habs come out hard again like they did the last few games. The team tonight just seemed depleted.. injuries? Fatigue? Such a shame I think Fowler deserved a better team in front of him tonight. He played good enough to win.

  11. I won't worry too much ablout this loss. Fowler has been good but Binnington played on his head. He stole this game for his team. These things happen, even the best offensive teams can be beaten by a hot goalie from time to time.

  12. Ten games in seventeen days, seven of them travelling on the road. They are tired, it's as simple as that. It was a good road trip, and the worst part of their season is almost over. GHG!

  13. very boring game! Fell asleep a couple times watching it. They have to come out better than that today!!!!

Kinda wondering about the team Canada lineup as well. For one, I wouldn't put Wilson in. Sure, he's scoring a lot right now, BUT… he's a liability with his actions. The guy cannot think. Takes dumb penalties and constantly is a cheap shot artist.
