Elvis and Marchenko were the only two players to acknowledge the “goodbye and good luck” post.

Man this makes me happy and sad at the same time.
I know that this is controversial on this sub, but Elvis is my favorite current Blue Jacket for stuff like this + interactions with fans. This was adorable.
Nobody can make me hate Elvis. He’s just too nice of a guy. He takes the worst shellacking from the most vocal, then turns up at all of the fan events smiling, eager to meet everyone.
My first time watching professional hockey was the Stanley Cup Final between Edmonton and Florida in 2024 (a Canadian friend had been begging me for years, so I relented). My schedule cleared up in November/December and I figured I’d catch a game for the local team on TV. I’d see the bumpers before commercial with the guys skating toward the camera with their names. “Boone Jenner? Who’s that? Who is Kent Johnson?” Then I heard Steve and Jody mention our goaltender, Elvis Merzlikins, and thought “Ok, I can remember that name.” One of the first games I watched, he did a few crazy saves. A few months later, in February, someone on here posted a clip of the time where he did a huge jump to stop Craig Smith’s shot against the Blackhawks. Someone else commented “That’s Elvis being Elvis.” It was endearing. I checked out his Instagram and he always looked like he was smiling – I explained to family that “He always looks like he’s about to tell a joke or sneak a whoopie cushion onto the bench and prank someone”. He made me a hockey fan by making me an Elvis fan.
I will always be rooting for him to succeed. (Hopefully here, as a Blue Jacket.) And this clip is another prime example of Elvis being Elvis.
