I’d be interested to know whether any Mavs fans here would be willing to give up AD and Naji for Risacher and the NOP pick. AD was fantastic last night, and Naji is a really good player on a great contract. But we also have to think about the future.

Just a few thoughts from a Mavs fan.

  5. Yes. I do this in a heartbeat. Having potentially 2, top 10 picks in this draft is incredibly important. Adding in Zacc would be an incredible get, as well. 

    With this, we would have 4, top 10 picks to build around. We probably need two of the four to be great. Coop already being one of them. 

  9. To get that Pelicans pick AND Risacher, it’d take more but the Mavs should do whatever they can to make it happen. Mostly for the pick. Anyone over 23 and not including Mavs ‘26 pick.

  12. Absolutely, it would suck to lose Naji, but that NO pick could be great, risacher still probably has some potential, and Dallas would also have their own pick. It would be great to have 3 young assets

  16. Even though the trade is “successful”, there is a lot of context in this that makes the trade terrible for the Hawks. Giving up on Zach and the NO pick that they fleeced from NO themselves would be pretty dumb on their end. AD is a great player but his availability alone nullifies a lot of his greatness and significantly reduces his trade value.

  24. Everyone except Coop and Max should be on the table if they can get that pick.

  27. I have no idea why ATL would want Davis. The only reason anybody would want him is if they’re a player away from making a serious run and they want to take a gamble that he’ll stay healthy for a postseason or two. He makes no sense for ATL, but more than happy to oblige. I’d dump him for a top-10 pick. I’m not high on Risacher but he’s worth a flyer. I like Naji but he doesn’t fit the timeline and if he can help facilitate this deal then sure.

  28. Hawks are kinda in the same boat we are so I don’t think they would give that pick up for any reason
