1- It’s very possible had even 1 of the multi one score games they lost gone their way- they would have ended up at 4 wins anyway.
2- Never want to lose to the Cowboys
3-Try telling players like Dart, Burns or even Okereke not to go out and work hard. Not gonna happen.
4-Ultimately the draft will come down to who they draft not when they draft. Someone like Caleb Downs could be snatched 7th if other teams are more focused on offensive skill positions and he could completely re-invent the defense.

The Giants were the first team in the NFL to be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
The Giants also do not hold a top 5 pick.
Also, how many times does it need to be explained- the appeal of the 1st/2nd pick was never about who we could get there vs. at 7. It was about trading down for extra capital and then still picking a great player.
Never a bad day when we beat the Cowboys. Time to root for the rest of the loser teams in the 425 window
If they lost last week then you could have your culture win this week and it wouldn’t matter. But that would be smart, we don’t do that.
Good for you dude. Enjoy the one way ticket to mediocrity
I bet you could find a post like this from almost all the past 5 seasons
Gunner O basically doubled his career receiving yards today.
I would like to see what strategies would have ensured “tanking”.
Giants fans logic
We get pick 2 – “Absolutely guaranteed to save the franchise. The future will 100% be successful. Get ready for our super bowl run!!”
We pick 5 picks later – “Our franchise is doomed, and will never recover from this. 7th pick is a death sentence, everyone knows this, and if you disagree then you aren’t a real fan!!”

If you don’t get it by now there’s nothing else to say
Sit the fuck down 😂
You know, I’d really rather win when it still matters vs when it no longer does.
We lose when wins matter, and we win when losses matter.
I’d rather have beaten Denver and the Lions and then lose these last two games and wound up in the same place.
Bro has Stockholm syndrome
You sit those guys. Do you not understand that the Cowboys and Raiders were trying to lose? There’s literally no upside to beating teams that are trying to let you win.
Point number 4 makes no sense for two reasons: (1) They could’ve traded down, gotten more picks, and still pick in the position they will likely pick in now (pick 3-6); and (2) the higher the pick, the more likely you are to get the player you want. There’s no difference between drafting Caleb Downs at 3 or 7, you’re just more likely to get him at 3.
My thoughts are less “We fucked up our draft” and more “Why couldn’t we have played like this earlier?”
[New York dummies? Study shows Giants fans dead last in intelligence; Jets fans low too](https://sports.yahoo.com/york-dummies-study-shows-giants-091902249.html)
The Giants suck so hard, they even lose when they win. Let that sink in. The players are so stupid, and the management so painfully inept, they can’t even tank well. The only thing this team does well is shoot itself in the head. At that, they’re worldbeaters. The depths of my contempt for them knows no bounds. Thank god this is the last time we’ll have to watch their ineptitude for another eight months. Their next failure will be to hire Mike McCarthy to replace Daboll. Anyone who still roots for them gets exactly what they deserve. After forty years of fandom, I am done.
2025: Started 2-13, win the next two games and end 4-13. Went from #1 pick to potentially outside the top 5.
2024: Started 2-13, win their next game and cost themselves the 1st pick
2023: Started 2-8, win 3 in a row, end 6-11
2021: Giants start 1-5, win 3 out of 4 games, end 4-13
2020: Start 1-7, win FOUR in a row, end 6-10
2019: Start 2-11, win 2 in a row, end 4-12
2018: Start 1-7, win 4 out of 5, end 5-11
2017: Start 2-13, win in Week 17 to end 3-13
I always feel like football fans have really lost the plot when they’re angry their team doesn’t tank.
Impossible for me to be mad about a win against Dallas.
This was not about picking at 1 or 2. It was trying to get the Raiders or Jets or any other QB hungry teams to surrender a boatload of multiple picks so we can address the various needs of the team. Instead, we fill one spot now. It’s infuriating because we can’t seem to win when the season still matters. Then when we’re dead and the season’s down the crapper, now it’s our super bowl. This is why we stay bad, we never do what’s truly in our best interests.

If Giants fans wanted to lose then they should not have been calling for Daboll’s job
I would also add when you look at their play this year, the Raiders, Jets, Cardinals, and Titans were all objectively worse than the Giants. We were in games… we kept losing them but we were in them.
Winning close games and losing them is the difference between the 2024 Chiefs and 2025 Chiefs. Not suggesting we’re Super Bowl bound next year just that you flip that and winning teams become losing teams and losing teams become winning teams quickly.
Have to disagree with point 4. It’s not about who we would have taken with our first pick this upcoming year. It’s about having one or two and trading it and winding up with a different top 4-5 pick, plus an extra first round next year.
The ranking narrative is insane. Yea the front office likely wants to rank but the players???? They’re playing for their future. They’re competitors. You can’t convince players to tank, regardless of how much the front office wants to and tries.
So yea, I would have loved if we tanked. But dart isn’t incentivized to. He’s playing to win. And I respect that.
I wanted to lose but it’s hilarious to me that people get pissed at fans who want to win these games. As if they caused the win, lol.
I don’t expect the team to be good while this gm is making the picks anyway , ah well off to the off season
Winning this game was not only pointless, but detrimental to their draft pick. Same f’n story every single year. There are no moral victories in this shit.
I didn’t want them to tank….i just wanted them to lose
No doubt we have one of the lowest IQ fanbases
Why eat broccoli now to feel better in the morning when you can just eat candy for dinner instead ? Tomorrow be damned, I like eating candy today.
I have no issue with wanting the team to win.
I also have no issue with wanting the team to lose.
I have an issue that it’s another year where by December both views are equally valid.
Pure cope lmao. Moronic move by a moronic franchise
As a NYG fan since Eli won his first chip – I do wonder how these “moral victories” has helped the franchise in the last decade when we win these pointless games in a losing season?
We’ve continuously win a handful of games towards the end of the season and believe this will help our culture etc but has it actually? If we look at the last 10+ years – obviously hindsight being 20/20 – we would have had more options and we missed out on some quality picks if we had a higher draft position (granted this is under the belief that we would have made the right pick) and keeping Schoen seems where we are heading towards…
Just super tired of being a NYG fan. Don’t think anything will change until ownership changes.
LOL that thinking is why we suck year after year
Remember this win next season when we 2-12 or smthg
Ffs
So instead of getting 1st pick and trading down for a haul likely including that 6th pick they just get the 6th with nothing else. Yeah congrats ur such a real fan! Giants are ass and will continue to be ass with this fake winning mentality.
Enjoy another 4 seasons of us being done by November with 6+ losses. Idk what else can be said to this type of mentality
2nd year in a row the Giants have screwed themselves out of the 1st pick
Of course the raiders are winning. This meaningless win cost us the first pick
We definitely should have tried to tank. Drafting at 2 compared to 5-7 is a pretty big difference considering we could have been drafting in those positions PLUS extra assets which the team needs. We always win when it doesn’t matter
We didn’t beat the cowboys, they played like a smart organization and lost. If you take pride in that I don’t know what to tell you.
At the very least they should have pulled dart when Dallas pulled Prescott.
The giants win the equivalent of a pre season game. Dallas called it in.
The Giants winning today and being excited about it is the equivalent of you getting bullied at your job all year, and then your boss throws a pizza party where you get one slice and some salad thinking next year will be better.
It won’t, remind me in a year @ bot
