Meanwhile Oladokun, Ewers, Leonard, McKey, and LANCE etc all look like — well — what it normally looks like. We as fans and the front office, etc should all thank our collective lucky stars that despite the colossal gamble and miss on Trey, we landed a $50M QB right in our lap.

  1. These kind of stats are always weird. Like technically the 49ers defense beat Brady, and Brock beat the Bucs defense. But still cool and go Brock etc. just def not a direct comparison that we can make.

Edit: if you’re downvoting at least reply why you think I’m wrong. They didn’t play each other directly because they weren’t on the field at the same time. They didn’t play against the same defenses so how can you directly compare them? I still think Brock is amazing but it’s not a good stat, if you used this stat in any research study it would be shot down in peer reviews.

  2. Technically the first time he saw the field was 6 weeks before the Miami game against KC.

  3. It’s so obvious who didn’t watch the game yesterday and only look at box scores to hate on Purdy. He played as well as possible considering the circumstances (no Trent, no WR1, getting pressured every play) and any 49er fan that just points to the QBR/passer rating to try and diminish him isn’t a fan in my book. No other top QB (Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, Burrow) would’ve been able to win that game yesterday and you can’t convince me otherwise.

You’re so right when we look across the league and see how badly many backups and 3rd stringers performed this year (Brosmer anyone?). People really take for granted just how crazy it was that Brock made the offense BETTER in his rookie year as a 3rd stringer cold off the bench.

This year solidified my confidence in Brock and the 49ers are so damn lucky to have him!

  4. Absolutely. Becuase look at the rest of our 2022 draft:

    2- Drake Jackson

    3- Tyrion Davis-Price

    3- Danny Gray

    4- Spencer Burford

    5- Samual Womack

    6- Nick Zakelj

    6- Kalia Davis

    6- Tariq Castro-Fields

    WOOF that’s a rough draft

  5. A better way to look at it is we traded up to get him with the 3rd pick and picked Trey Lance at 262.

  6. NFL scouts must really suck to think Trey Lance and Zach Wilson were serious 1st round picks and Purdy wasn’t even draft worthy.

  7. Amen!!! It’s so funny to hear people’s takes about the flashes of young QBs and everything in comparison to what BCB did immediately upon taking the field. Just unreal how incredible he has been!
