I mean, as much as I want him to play, that’s a smart call.
This was something that a few people had speculated on, and truth be told, I would not be surprised if he retired. Between the tragic passing of his daughter and this season with so many concussions, it’s hard to blame him for thinking of walking away.
If you’ve thought about it, you’ve already moved on. I hope he just hangs em up. Great career and good luck.
He should retire.
It’s one thing to break a bone or tear a muscle, but the brain is your entire foundation. I wouldn’t blame him one bit.
I wish there was a way the team Dr could fail his physical and make the decision for him.
The guy needs to call it. Your life is more important than football.
Would two lockdown corners be fun? Sure. But it puts it into perspective that we’ll have to figure out a different path.
Hes gonna retire, which, good for him, but just another blemish on Ballards resume.
He should absolutely just call it a career. Take care of yourself, your mental health. There is life beyond football and hes got alot left.
I can’t be mad at him, long-term health over football. He’s earned enough money to be set for life. I wish it worked out better here in Indy, though. I don’t have a bad thing to say about him.
Take care of your health, way more important than a game.
As a Dolphins fan watching Tua physically and mentally regress from the concussions and other plethora of injuries, it’s not worth it. It’s never worth it.
Ward has already made enough money to support his family and should go out with his marbles still intact. His kids and grandkids will be thankful.
2 concussions in a row are lingering, definitely feels like something is going on with him
Certainly no need to stick it out for this team if Chris Laggard and Shane Trashcan are sticking around. Take care of your health, my man
If he goes, we drop Zaire, don’t resign the poor edge players, maybe move on from Kenny and restructure Pittman or move on, and deal AR, we’ll have a good chunk of change to address needs (of which there are quite a few)
And that’s why the Sauce trade was vital cause otherwise if he retires, no Sauce, we are back to square 1 with the CB room
He should retire though
3 concussions in 3 months is no joke. You’ve won a Super Bowl and had an excellent career, enjoy your 30s and time with your family.
It’s time to call it a career.
I hope he retires. Life is bigger than football and as a fan I’ll be more sad if he continues to play. His symptoms were terrible last time and likely never fully recovered from them before sustaining his next one. I loved him on the team, he was and is a great corner, but ruining his life isn’t worth the colts being slightly better.
Needs to hang it up. Especially considering hes tied to this bum ass franchise. Never worth risking your future health, but definitely dont waste it on this organization.
I think it’s smart for him to retire. I like the guy and want to see him. But your brain can only take so much rattling and damage in there.
I’m with his dad. No hard feelings. Safety and longevity always should take priority. Enjoy life, don’t throw it away for a paycheck.
I wouldn’t blame him in the slightest if he retired. His health is way more important than playing football.
Dude needs to retire. He’s still dealing with the trauma of losing his daughter on top of multiple concussions.
I hope he focuses on himself and his family.
He should retire. His last return on the field he looked significantly different and i really wondered if he wasn’t fully recovered from the concussions before getting yet another one 🙁 poor guy
If he retires will we have a serious cap problem or will it help?
I think he is checked out. He lost his daughter and I don’t know how he is even managing to go on with life and my hat is off to him.
Whatever he does I just hope he finds some peace and happiness
