In October 2025, the Ohio-based Fifth-Third Bank announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire Texas-based Comerica Bank, in a deal expected to close in March 2026 for $10.9 billion.
Among the many questions raised by this acquisition were the implications for the name of Comerica Park. The naming rights of the Tigers' home stadium were purchased in 1998 by Comerica Bank in a thirty-year deal, and that deal was extended in 2018 that was expected to keep the stadium name unchanged until 2034.
When asked about possible changes to the name of the Tigers' stadium in October 2025, Fifth Third issued the following statement: "As we move forward with the merger, we remain focused on honoring the legacy of both institutions and continuing to support the places and partnerships that matter most to our customers and communities. While it’s too early to discuss any potential changes to facility names, we are committed to thoughtful decisions that reflect our shared values and long-standing community ties." source
Has there been any update on the plans for the name of the home of the Detroit Tigers?

Haven’t seen any rebranding of comerica branches or plans for any. Think this is a ways out of there’s going to be a name change
5th/3rd Field has such a better ring to it than 5th/3rd Park
My dad had a work lunch with a banker from Comerica a couple months ago, and the name switch for the full corporation is going to roll out over the next year, but the stadium itself won’t change over until the 2026-27 offseason
Fuck it. I’m calling it Tiger Stadium.
Just call it Hot n Ready field.
Isn’t the minor league park in Grand Rapids called fith-third?
If we lived in alternate universe where the Tigers would rather not sell the naming rights away for only ~$2.2M per year, what would you name the stadium?
Fifth-Third can huff my shorts.
I don’t know why they just don’t call it Tiger Stadium. You don’t want the same name as the previous stadium then just call it Detroit stadium or Tigers Park etc. I never did like naming stadiums after a business.
Since this would be the 3rd active park named 5/3, maybe call this 2 2/3 park? Simplify the fractions.
Hope this dude has an easier time pronouncing Fifth Third than he does Comerica

There’s a chance it doesn’t even pass, shareholders still have to vote
